Barbara Comstock

Barbara Jean Comstock (née Burns; born June 30, 1959) is an attorney, lobbyist, and politician. As a Republican, she was elected to two terms in Congress for the 10th congressional district in northern Virginia. She was defeated for reelection in 2018 by Democrat Jennifer Wexton. From 2010 to 2014, she was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. She first won election to her seat in 2009. She has worked in numerous positions for various government agencies, including as chief counsel of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, director of public affairs at the Department of Justice, and as a Congressional staffer. In 2019, she joined the lobbying firm Baker Donelson as a senior advisor.
