Bashir

Bashir is a character in the Sacred Band of Stepsons universe. He is leader of the Successors, mountain bandits and insurgents who hold the passes of the Wizardwall mountain range and struggle to reclaim their homeland of Nisibis from sorcerers. Bashir is a childhood friend of Nikodemos, and called "son of the Defender." He is also a priest of Enlil. Together with the Sacred Band, the Successors play a major part in the wizard wars and the military coup at the Festival of Man. Later, Bashir grants Tempus and the Sacred Band land in Free Nisibis, where the Stepsons establish a stock farm. Bashir appears in three of Janet Morris' Sacred Band of Stepsons novels, Beyond Wizardwall, Beyond the Veil, and Beyond Sanctuary, as well as in The Sacred Band.
