Beasts

Beasts is an Alternative Rock and Grunge/Shoegaze band from Twickenham, London in the United Kingdom. Notable for their extremely loud, textured, and energetic live shows, Beasts began as the recording project of Joe Mallory-Skinner with childhood friend and drummer Tom Wood, based on a love of bands such as Nirvana, The Pixies, My Bloody Valentine and more, in July 2010 shortly after the pair had graduated from college. The pair recruited bassist Ben Soan, whom frontman Joe Mallory-Skinner met whilst studying music in London, three months in to rehearsing and played their first show at The Watershed in Wimbledon a month later. After a year and a half of rehearsals, development and support shows at nearly every Rock Venue across London the band played an acoustic session for BBC London on the Jo Good show and went on to begin writing and demoing a debut EP which they went on to record and co-produce with acclaimed producer/engineer Bill Gautier in late 2012. Beasts recorded several tracks with producers Jim Abbiss and Adrian Bushby in early 2012 which are yet to be released. Beasts recently recorded two tracks with producer Dan Weller. The three piece band have played support shows for artists including Miles Kane, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Fiction and Marmozets in early 2013 and have gained national press exposure from publications such as Rock Sound Magazine, who featured the band in its exposure section as well as posting Beasts as "Band Of The Week" online,Kerrang! Magazine, and Big Cheese As well as national radio play on XFM with plays from Ian Camfield. Beasts released their debut self-titled EP on August 12, 2013 with a sold out show the next day at The Barfly.
