Boinx Software
Boinx Software is a Puchheim-based German software company that specializes in applications for Mac OS X and iOS. It was founded in 1996 by brothers Achim and Oliver Breidenbach. They chose Boinx because they wanted a name that was artificial, young, hip, fun, pronounced the same in German and English and could also be a sound. Boinx Software claims their motivation as a dedication to make fun, easy to use and powerful applications for creative people. As of 2010, the firm's applications have won several Apple Design Awards, including BoinxTV, FotoMagico and PhotoPresenter. The firm's BoinxTV for video production, created in partnership with TheCodingMonkeys, is one of the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2009 and has received mostly positive reviews from the Macintosh community, especially among Podcasters. Bastian Wölfle, producer and host of the DigitalUpgrade & BitnappingTV video podcasts says that, “The first time I saw BoinxTV I knew this would change the way I'd create video podcasts forever." Jordi Duran i Batidor of Biz-News.com reviewed BoinxTV and found it "a great application, easy to use and powerful."
