Inflection is a people search engine co-founded by Brian and Matthew Monahan in 2006. The company raised $30 million in venture capital funding from Matrix Partners and Sutter Hill Ventures. Archives.com, one of the company's first products, was acquired by Ancestry.com for $100 million. The company's other product, PeopleSmart, was described as "phonebook for the 21st century" in 2010 by the New York Times. The company's competitors include Ancestry.com and Intelius.
