
John Ellis
John Ellis (1789–1862), of Beaumont Leys and Belgrave Hall in Leicester, was a Quaker, a noted liberal reformer and an accomplished businessman. Ellis was Chairman of the Midland Railway from 1849 to 1858 and a Member of Parliament for Leicester between 1848 and 1852.
