Marshmello

Marshmello was an electronic music producer and DJ whose real identity was unknown, although some have suggested that he may be DJ Christian Comstock. Marshmello, who gained acclaim for his collaborations with such artists as Ookay and Omar LinX, was also known for the oversized mask he wore whenever he appeared in public: an oversized marshmallow with stylized eyes and mouth. Marshmello was inspired by famed DJ and producer deadmau5 (aka Joel Thomas Zimmerman), who similarly performed in public wearing an oversized mouse head. Marshmello first came to attention in 2015, when he began posting songs online, including a remix of "Beautiful Now" by Zedd. In March 2015, he posted his first original song, "WaVeZ," to his SoundCloud page. This and other songs drew praise from established DJs such as Skrillex. In January 2016, Marshmello released his first album, "Joytime," which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Electronic & Dance Albums chart. The main single from this album was "Keep It Mello," and other singles followed, including "Alone" and "Ritual," the latter of which was released through Skrillex's OWSLA label. In 2017, Marshmello made "Forbes" magazine's list of highest-paid DJs, and in August 2017 he released the single "Silence," a collaboration with Khalid. This was followed by a collaboration with Selena Gomez, entitled "Wolves" and released in October 2017. This made the Top 10 charts in more than 20 countries.
