Philip E. Bernatz

Philip Eugene Bernatz (April 18, 1921 - October 6, 2010) was an eminent American physician and thoracic surgeon at the Mayo Clinic, and an international authority on the diagnosis and treatment of thymoma and other tumors of the chest. Bernatz was born on April 18, 1921 in Decorah, Iowa, as one of four children of Frank and Martha (née Hanson) Bernatz, and he died on October 6, 2010, in Rochester, Minnesota.
