Rail Sim Pro was to be the next railroad simulator from Auran Pty. Ltd., a now defunct software firm based in Brisbane, Australia that came out of bankruptcy as Auran Development and Auran Holdings, both closely held Pty. Ltd corporations. The former sub-let it's rights to N3V Games who now runs the Trainz franchise, currently Developing Trainz A New Era, a full blown 64 bit version of the preceding 32 bit Apps for Windows and Mac Operating systems. RSP was to a new generation follow-up to Auran's popular Trainz franchise series aimed at providing simulators to operating railway companies. One common misconception is that RSP will be another installment in the Trainz franchise, but in reality, it will be all-new code, rewritten from the ground up. In mid-2006 Auran informally announced that RSP had been scrapped. In the subsequent releases [Trainz Classics, Trainz 2009, Trainz 2010, and Trainz 12 Railroad Simulator ] N3V Games after injecting cash into the flailing Auran for the Trainz rights has continued down the path of catering to the serious Railroad Modeling community and hobbyists.
