Rainbow Shops

Rainbow Shops or Rainbow is a mid-range American retail apparel chain primarily targeting teens and young women. It was established in 1935 and is based in Brooklyn. The chain operates stores under the names Rainbow, Rainbow Plus, Rainbow Kids, Marianne and 5-7-9. There are 740+ stores with a plus size department and 960+ stores with a shoe department. In addition, Rainbow has 66 stand-alone children’s stores and 11 stand-alone plus size stores. Rainbow operates over 1,000 retail stores in the United States, 64 in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The outlet located at Wilmington, Delaware is in the Max Keil Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
