Roland Ruby

Roland Ruby is an American composer, lyricist and playwright. As a singer/musician, is best known for hiring the Harlem Gospel Choir to perform his composition Mass for Mankind on his press kit and turning it into the feature film Whatever Happened to Roland Ruby? A Docudramedy Featuring the 9 Selfish Acts of Nazzy the Nosey Kitty, which stars a cat puppet, played by Norma Dunkelberger. It also features actors Brad Thomason, Kelly Danger, Amanda Romeo and comic Chris Calogero. The film, which spoofs the music industry, was packaged with the second studio album, First Kisses and Final Requests. Debut CD Todavia Nos Queremos features all lyrics in Spanish. On studio albums, writes and performs songs in Spanish, English, French and even the ancient Latin. When performing live with the Roland Ruby Orchestra, sings and plays upright bass, guitar or piano. In the studio, usually only sings and plays guitar. According to IMDB, current work in progress is "The Return of the Jersey Devil, A Roland Ruby Musical." Is represented by ASCAP.
