WHHW

WHHW is a radio station broadcasting an adult standards format as AM 1130 The Island – Hilton Head's Timeless Favorites. Prior to March 6, 2011, the station was an ESPN Radio affiliate, WFXH, featuring programing from CNN Radio. WHHW is licensed to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA. The station is currently owned by Alpha Media. Monty Jett, formerly morning host on co-owned WLOW, moved to WHHW with its most recent change. The station features smooth jazz programming during evening hours, known as After Hours on the Island, which was known simply as "After Hours" after sister station WXYY dropped the programming and its "107.9 The Coast" moniker in favor of moving the station towards a younger demographic. WHHW also simulcasts its programming on an FM translator at 93.5, broadcasting at a power level of 250 watts.
