JYP Entertainment formed the South Korean girl group Twice via the 2015 reality show Sixteen. Nine members make up the group: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Twice debuted October 20, 2015, with the EP The Story Begins. As of December 2020, the group sold over 10 million albums in South Korea and Japan. I.O.I, also known as IOI or Ideal of Idol, is a South Korean girl group. CJ E&M formed the group through the 2016 reality show Produce 101 on Mnet. Eleven members made up the group: Lim Na-young, Kim Chung-ha, Kim Se-jeong, Jung Chae-yeon, Zhou Jieqiong, Kim So-hye, Yoo Yeon-jung, Choi Yoo-jung, Kang Mi-na, Kim Do-yeon, and Jeon So-mi. They debuted May 4, 2016, with the EP Chrysalis. The group promoted as a whole and a sub-unit for less than a year. Their concert, Time Slip – I.O.I, ran January 20 to 22, 2017, marking their final on-stage activity.

Polaris Entertainment formed Ladies' Code in 2013. The group started with leader Ashley and members RiSe, EunB, Sojung, and Zuny. They debuted with the mini-album Code#01. The lead track, "Bad Girl," dropped March 7, 2013. On September 3, 2014, a car accident killed EunB and RiSe. Ladies' Code returned as a trio in February 2016 with the extended play Myst3ry. WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, is a South Korean-Chinese girl group. Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment formed the group. WJSN debuted February 25, 2016, with the extended play Would You Like?. Twelve members started the group: Seola, Xuanyi, Bona, Exy, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Meiqi, Yeoreum, and Dayoung. WJSN added a thirteenth member, Yeonjung, in July 2016.

Hello Venus, stylized as HELLOVENUS, is a South Korean girl group. Tricell Media, a former joint venture of Pledis Entertainment and Fantagio, formed the group. Alice, Nara, Lime, Yooara, Yoonjo, and Yooyoung made up the original lineup. They debuted on May 9, 2012, with the single "Venus" from their debut EP. Fantagio and Pledis ended their Tricell Media joint ventures in July 2014. Yooara and Yoonjo stayed with Pledis; the other four members continued group work under Fantagio. Fantagio introduced two new members in October 2014.

Lovelyz is a South Korean girl group. Woollim Entertainment formed the group in 2014; it is Woollim's first girl group. Eight members make up Lovelyz: Baby Soul, Jiae, Jisoo, Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Sujeong, and Yein. The group released its debut album, Girls' Invasion, on November 17, 2014.

Momoland, a South Korean girl group, formed by MLD Entertainment via the 2016 reality show Finding Momoland. Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy were the original members. They released their debut mini album Welcome to Momoland on November 10, 2016. In 2017, Daisy and Taeha joined, making Momoland a nine-member group. Taeha and Yeonwoo left in 2019; Daisy left in 2020. Ahin, Hyebin, Jane, JooE, Nancy, and Nayun make up the group now.

Wanna One is a South Korean boy band. CJ E&M formed the group through Produce 101's second season. Eleven members comprised the group: Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon. The group debuted on August 7, 2017, under Swing Entertainment and CJ E&M. Their contract ended December 31, 2018, but their last group activity was their concert from January 24–27, 2019.

Gugudan, styled gu9udan or gx9, started in 2016 under Jellyfish Entertainment. The group debuted June 28, 2016, with the mini-album Act. 1 The Little Mermaid and the track "Wonderland". Nine members comprise Gugudan: Mimi, Hana, Haebin, Nayoung, Sejeong, Sally, Soyee, Mina, and Hyeyeon. After two years without group activities, Jellyfish Entertainment released a statement. They declared the group would end activities and officially disband December 31, 2020.

The name ‘N.Flying’ comes from ‘NEW’ and ‘Flying,’ meaning ‘new wings’ or ‘new escape.’ Their first release, Basket, hit number two on Oricon’s weekly Indies chart in Japan.
