About this list

In the Doom video games, you play as an unnamed marine fighting back hell's legions. The franchise, which debuted in 1993, has expanded to include books, comics, and a movie starring Dwayne Johnson. Its aggressive gameplay style revolutionized the first-person shooter genre. After a revival with the 2016 release of Doom, the series continues with Doom Eternal. Later editions often feature updated graphics, new platforms, and expanded levels, allowing you to play classic games like the original Doom, Doom II: Hell on Earth, and Doom 3. Each installment introduces new enemies alongside familiar foes like the Pain Elemental, Arachnotron, and Archvile. Vote for your favorite Doom games and check back on November 22 to share your thoughts on Doom Eternal after its release.

    Doom II: Hell on Earth

id Software developed Doom II: Hell on Earth, a first-person shooter released in 1994 as the original Doom's sequel. The game continues the story, letting players fight through Earth after demons invaded. Gameplay mirrors the first game: fast combat, maze levels, and many weapons, including the powerful Super Shotgun.
