Passover, or Pesach, is a week-long holiday where Jewish people eat matzah instead of bread. For the uninitiated, Pesach commemorates the Jews' Exodus from Egypt, a story that involves Moses, the Pharaoh, the Ten Plagues, and more. The holiday starts with a seder, a Very Important Dinner that 70% of American Jews attend each year. During this meal, participants take turns reading from the Haggadah, recounting the time the Angel of Death passed over Jewish homes, saving their first-born sons. The seder features a fancy plate, special foods, and customs like reclining at the table and drinking four cups of wine. Some people love it so much that they have a second seder the next night. The rest of the week is all about not eating bread. What are your favorite things about Passover? Maybe it's gefilte fish, the Four Questions, or matzah ball soup. Do you clean your house for chametz or use special plates and silverware? Even Jesus' Last Supper was a Passover seder. What's the best thing about Pesach?
