Amy Hill Says Working With Mike Myers Was A 'Horrible, Nightmarish Experience'

Mike Myers appears in the list of 12 actors who are difficult to work with, according to co-stars.Cat in the Hat.Mike Myers co-starred with Amy Hill.Mike Myers.Mike Myers was horrible to work with.

He had his handlers dress his trailer. Tenting covered his area because he did not want anyone seeing him. He was a hermit. This was the worst.

I would arrive at dawn, waiting. We all waited for Mike Myers. I felt like I was there forever; my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter was missing. I felt miserable. I thought it was rude for him not to include us. It was a horrible, nightmarish experience. He did not seem to know anyone.

A guy kept his chocolates in a small Tupperware. He would run over and give chocolate when he needed it. This is what divas are like, I guess. Or people who need therapy.

'Shakespeare In Love' Producer Edward Zwick Said Julia Roberts Refused To Work With Anyone Other Than Daniel Day-Lewis

Before Gwyneth Paltrow was cast in the Oscar-winning filmShakespeare in Love., Julia Roberts.Julia Roberts was set for the lead role. Producer Edward Zwick used having Roberts in the cast to get initial funding for the project.

The mere possibility of having the.Pretty Woman.Wearing a corseted gown got the studio excited enough to pay. Ten weeks later, I returned to London. A xeroxed copy of Stoppard’s first draft waited in my hotel room.

However, Zwick said Roberts insisted on Daniel Day-Lewis as her co-star, nearly ruining the film. Zwick warned Roberts that Day-Lewis worked on another film and would not be free for the project. My Best Friend's Wedding. The star pursued Day-Lewis by sending him roses and a card that read, “Be my Romeo.” Roberts did not show up for the chemistry tests the next day, sticking to her demand despite Day-Lewis’s second apology and refusal.

When Roberts finally agreed to the rescheduled chemistry tests, Zwick remembered the star's treatment of Ralph Fiennes and the other actors competing for the role.Duplicity.The star treated Ralph Fiennes and the other actors vying for the role this way.

Even as Ralph tried to get the famous smile, Julia barely acknowledged him. I do not suggest she was trying to sabotage, but it was a disaster. I tried to catch Ralph’s eye to apologize as he left, but he could not leave quickly. After he left, I looked at Julia, waiting for her reaction. “He isn’t funny,” was all she said.

The rest of that day and every day that followed went just as badly. I no longer have my cast lists, but among the young actors yet to be discovered, I remember: Hugh Grant, Rupert Graves, Colin Firth, Sean Bean, Jeremy Northam. Julia found fault with all of them: one was stiff, another lacked romance, and so on.

On the test morning with Paul McGann, Julia emerged from makeup looking radiant in full period costume. But when she started speaking, something went wrong. There was no magic. The problem was Julia, not the script or Paul McGann. From the moment she spoke, it was clear she had not worked on the accent.

Sensing Julia’s unease, I tried to encourage her. She must have sensed my worry and made the mistake of underestimating her fear of failing. She had just risen to the top of the Hollywood food chain. She must have been terrified of failing. I would never try to talk her out of it. The next morning, I called her room and learned she had checked out.

Roberts' manager told Zwick the next day that she was quitting the job.

I looked forward to working with Tommy because he was a fantastic actor, and he remains so. I love him. He is amazing. But he was a little stiff… I think he got a little scared becauseDumb and Dumber.came out the same weekend asCobb., andCobb.was his big shot—sorry, a pun. That failed, and it scared him.

I thought it made him—I went into a restaurant the night before our big scene in the Riddler's lair, and the maître d asked, “You’re working with Tommy Lee Jones, right?” I replied, “I am.” He said, “He’s in the back corner.” I said, “Oh, great. I’ll go say hi.”

I went up to say hello, and the blood left his face so much that I saw I had become the face of his pain or something. He started shaking and hugged me, saying, “I hate you. I really don't like you.” I thought, “Wow, okay, what is happening, man?” He said, “I cannot approve of your foolishness.”

He did not want to work with me then. I told him, “You know this part needs—the tone is like childish evil, and I think you might struggle to get there. So, I wish you the best.”

I think that difficulty, that is like a press thing. I think Tommy—it is just with you guys because we had a great time.

Playing a prohibition moonshine bootlegger, LaBoeuf felt he needed to be heavily intoxicated to show the part.

I did it for the movie. I did not drink off set for no reason. I did it because, when I showed up the next day, my eyes looked like this and my face had that drunk bloat I needed, which I could not have otherwise.

MoonshineMoonshine is different from liquor. Moonshine is closer to heroin.

Working on the (chaotic) set ofThe Island of Dr. MoreauDavid Thewlis said thatMarlon BrandoMarlon Brando struggled to remember his lines. He often blurted out phrases not in the script because he relied on an earpiece:

[He] uses an earpiece to remind him of his lines. He would be in a scene, and suddenly he would get police messages. Marlon would repeat, “There’s a robbery at Woolworth’s.”

Despite his odd interruptions of a rehearsed script, Thewlis praisedThe Godfatherstar:

Marlon’s pretty cool. When he walks into a room, people know he is there.

Vicky Krieps Called Working With Daniel Day-Lewis A 'Traumatizing Train Wreck' Of An Experience

After working withDaniel Day-LewisinPhantom Thread, co-star Vicky Krieps did not hide her bad filming experience. After explaining that other actors tiptoed around Day-Lewis and whispered how great he was as they passed, Krieps described her lack of infatuation with theGangs of New Yorkactor toThe Telegraph:

I never watch films of people I plan to work with; I do not Google them. I did not know much about [Day-Lewis’s] method acting. I think we are all equal. We all sit on the toilet. I could see it all like a circus. I did not get afraid.

But after half the movie, I was tired of it. I got it. It is a game. I played it. But can we talk normally now? In the scene where Alma (played by Krieps) complains about “you and your people and your walls and your rules…”, that was me talking to a famous actor, saying, “Do you really need everyone around you to behave so strangely and talk in a whisper?” I decided I would not look at him in a special way just because he is Daniel Day-Lewis. He reacted to my feeling and played with that well. That dance became the movie, and in the end it was a wonderful thing, but it was also a traumatizing experience.

George Takei Accused William Shatner Of Being Jealous And Self-Interested On The Set Of 'Star Trek'

According to George Takei,William Shatnerwas self-interested on the set ofStar Trek. In an interview withThe New York Times, Takei asserted:

Working with someone who lacks teamwork proves hard. The rest of the cast knows how a scene functions; everyone contributes. Bill remains a great actor; he knows this and wants the camera on him constantly.

Takei also accused.Shatner.Shatner was jealous of the attention his co-star, Leonard Nimoy, got from the show.

William Shatner versus the rest of the world felt intense. It started with the TV series. One character had charisma and mystery like a magnet.

Spock, the alien with pointy ears, intrigued the audience. Women thought, “I can arouse him.” Shatner felt insecure because of the many fan letters he got, compared to Leonard’s.

Making movies, TV, and theater needs teamwork. A good actor knows the scene works when the cast shares that dynamic. Some actors act like they are a one-man show; this causes tension.

Working with Christian was tough because I did not know about the Method acting. I was new. I had not done many films, and an actor losing himself that much and getting so focused on the part made it hard for me to socialize. I felt he did not want to, and then my ego asked, “Does he dislike me? Does he think I am a bad actress?”

Guinevere Turner, who acted in the film, explained her experience with Bale.

He committed 100 percent to being this character, to a disturbing degree. He never spoke his real accent and never socialized while shooting.
