    Rent-A-Girlfriend

Rent-A-Girlfriend.Kazuya Kinoshita, a college student, rents girls for dates. This explores a strange topic, but it ends up being dumb. Kazuya gets into a weird spot with Chizuru Mizuhara when they lie to their grandmothers about being in a relationship.

The setup is fake. Kazuya acts like a weird pervert in the first season, violating Mizuhara's limits. His friends are equally gross, and the other two girls have unrealistic reasons for acting.

Season 2 improves because it focuses more on character growth than lewd jokes. Still, half the viewers have already quit.

    Makura no Danshi

Makura no DanshiAKAPillow BoysThis anime acts like a body pillow. Each short episode shows a male character in bed talking to the viewer about his day. Some viewers find this cringey, but others find it a relaxing stress reliever.

The concept fails because the execution is poor. The guys lack cuteness or good drawing; they just feel unsettling. The first guy to appear isapparentlyeight years old, and he offers to massage the viewer's butt. That's gross. More gross.

If you want something good with a similar feel, watchPlay It Cool, Guys.Watch that instead. This show has many cute, vulnerable guys, but it avoids being creepy or unsettling like this one.

Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?

Even if you love MILFs, watchDo You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? This remains deeply awkward. When Masato Oosuki moves to a video game world, he gets annoyed his mother traveled with him.

This project aims to help with parent-child bonding. It turns into a weak excuse to put his mother in bad spots. No teen wants to see their mother half-naked and covered in goo. The main character keeps cringing about the in-game action, so the audience does too.

    School Days

Watching people mess up relationships feels awkward. ButSchool DaysSchool Days goes past awkward into humiliating. As Makoto Itou realizes girls might like him, he starts sleeping with everyone he meets. This is fine if he wasn't lying to his girlfriend Kotonoha—and many others—about them being the only people in his life.

One love interest, Sekai, ends his life for ignoring her despite her pregnancy claims. Kotonoha then kills Sekai and cuts Makoto's head off, holding it like a baby. We skip explaining why this is cringey.

    Dog & Scissors

Want to see a show about a teen reincarnated as a dog for his favorite author? If yes, watchDog & Scissors is listed among the 15 Cringiest Anime.Expect super cringey moments.

The author attacks the dog protagonist and others for little reason. Ninety percent of the jokes focus on her small breasts. Side characters feature weak stereotypes like 'yandere' and 'cute imouto-chan'; these add little to the story. The anime is odd and unpleasant, not funny.

Read a reincarnation story about someone obsessed with books, like the canine protagonist? WatchAscendance of a Bookworm.

    Garzey's Wing

Garzey's WingViewers watch Garzey's Wing with friends to roast it. It has a standard isekai plot: Chris is summoned to another world to become a Holy Warrior.

The only inventive part is another version of Chris still existing in his world. However, the series ignores this idea. The whole thing is a messy failure, earning a low 4.11. onMyAnimeList.

    Domestic Girlfriend

Domestic Girlfriendis a really badanime to watchWatch Domestic Girlfriend if you have step-siblings or teachers. Natsuo Fujii loves his teacher Hina, but he doubts he can win her over. At a mixer, he hooks up with Rui, who wants people to stop mocking her innocence.

This would have worked, except Hina and Rui are sisters, and their mother is marrying Natsuo's dad. His life with his new stepsisters is awkward, including when Hina accidentally sees Natsuo masturbating.

Watamote: No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!

WatamoteWatamote shows a sympathetic look at a teenage girl whose anxiety and poor social skills stop her from making friends.Bocchi the RockBocchi the Rock is unflinchingly gross and hopeless instead of charming and uplifting.

Tomoko Kuroki has little hope of making friends, unlike Hitori Goto. Her attitude is hateful, and she uses methods with almost no chance of success, like refusing to bathe for days because she thinks it will make her hair shinier. Her ideas are silly, but her failures hurt because she feels them intensely. This series is cringe done well.

How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno

Watch Kaguya-sama: Love is War if you want to see characters plan elaborate schemes to make their crushes return their feelings.Kaguya-sama: Love is War.Watch How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno if you want a cringey anime on that topic. How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno.

Ueno acts like a scientific genius. She uses this skill to try to purify her urine and force her crush, Tanaka, to drink it. That is the whole uncomfortable series.

    Osomatsu-san

Osomatsu-san appears in the list '15 Cringiest Anime'.This series is on the list because its characters act totally cringeworthy. The Matsuno sextuplets are jobless slackers still living at home with their parents. Osomatsu's arrogance and constant gambling, alongside Choromatsu's idol obsession, make them losers in their own way.

Their antics are often funny. Still, they sometimes try to fix things and suffer emotionally when they fail. These failures make them cringier; you get invested in them.

If you watched earlier versions ofOsomatsu-kunThis series is cringey for a different reason. The original series was wholesome. This wacky, depressing, perverted sequel is a major distraction for those who remember the original.

    Masamune-kun's Revenge

Masamune-kun's Revenge is in the list '15 Cringiest Anime'.This anime is weird. After a girl rejected Masamune because of his weight, he tried to lose weight to become the type she would love. Then, he brutally dumped her and humiliated her the way she humiliated him.

The show has good parts. The show shows Masamune's body image problems with more care than expected. His childhood friendship with Neko Fujinomiya has some depth. Still, a show about a guy seeking revenge on a girl for rejection is cringey, even if her reason was weak.

Masamune's 42-year-old mother looks like a 10-year-old for some reason. We don't know if this is a parody, but it is unsettling. Also, the kids' gaudy school uniforms will make you cringe.

Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist

Shimoneta is in the list '15 Cringiest Anime'.This shows a future where all sexual expression is banned. A group of terrorists tries to break these unfair laws. It parodies Japanese society, which can be strict. Americans in states banning Sex Ed might find this world relatable.

This seems like a social critique. What makes it cringey? It barely looks at its own setup. Instead, it focuses only on making as many dirty jokes as possible. Some jokes land well; others go too far.

Anna Nishikinomiya, a proper student council president, becomes obsessed with the main character, Okuma. She stalks him, flashes him, tries to feed him her 'love nectar,' and has sex with him against his will. This is funny because she is hot, or something?

Sexual assault is not good joke material, even if repressed desires lead to weird expressions.

Gouriki, a student council member, wears women's underwear. This causes other characters to vomit. A masculine-looking guy in feminine clothes makes people freak out. This is transphobic. Should this series promote sexual freedom?

    Welcome to the NHK

Welcome to the NHKThis show earns cringe sympathy, not disdain. Protagonist Tatsuhiro Satou has severe mental health issues and lives a miserable life. He is a classic NEET; he skips school, work, and society. He is also a hikikomori; he fears going outside and only leaves with friends or at night.

The original novel shows drug use worsens his problems. The anime omits drugs. Instead, his paranoid thoughts that the NHK plots to ruin his life come from his mind.

Watching him try to fix his life, even in silly ways, is tough. Yet, the surprisingly positive ending makes the cringe worthwhile.

    Himouto! Umaru-chan

A spoiled kid throwing a tantrum over a video game because her guardian won't buy it is just cringey. This happens in anime just as much as in real life.

Umaru Doma drops all pretense when he gets home from school. He plays video games and watches anime. This would be charming if not for his adult brother. When the brother refuses to buy something or makes him go to bed early, Umaru starts screaming and acting like a baby. The poor guy works too hard dealing with this from a teenager who should know better.

    Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! This series is fantastic because it focuses on Chunibyo, also known as8th Grader Syndrome‘ - it deserves a spot on this list. The cringe comes from the characters, not from judging them.

Yuta Togashi wants a normal high school life and leaves his past—pretending to be the Dark Flame Master—behind. Rikka Takanashi, his classmate, believes he actually is the Dark Flame Master. She thinks she has her own powers and constantly tries to show them off for him.
