About this list

The American scene was once filled with historic restaurants and eateries. Conglomeration and the pandemic have taken a toll on many, including chains and local spots. Many chain restaurants have failed, gone out of business, or been discontinued. Facebook users often share memories of their favorite restaurants that no longer exist or have largely disappeared - some were quintessential locations in their areas, while others failed both at home and abroad.
