Who Would You Cast Instead Of Scarlett Johansson In Ghost In The Shell

Fantasy casting is a fun exercise, especially for live-action adaptations of Japanese anime or manga series. When Warner Brothers floated a possible live-action Attack on Titan, fans quickly shared their dream casts for Eren Jaeger. Though that project is still in limbo, another anime-turned-live-action film, Ghost in the Shell, is set to hit theaters in March 2017. Starring Scarlett Johansson, the film's casting choice sparked concerns about whitewashing when Johansson landed the lead role of Motoko Kusanagi. Many argued that Asian actors would be better suited to play Kusanagi, while others felt Johansson, though adequate, has been overused in similar action films. This list lets you choose your ideal Motoko Kusanagi.
