Bloodiest Video Games of All Time

Like cult classic movies, bloody video games can spark controversy and disgust at first, but eventually win a place in our hearts. Games with plenty of blood splatters, such as Gears of War and The Darkness II, provoke outrage over video game violence. Yet, for gamers, a little extra blood can make a satirical point or boost the fun factor. Few things are more satisfying than a blood-spattering headshot or ripping through bodies with demon-arms. Over time, pixellated gore may lose its edge, but even old school games on this list can still shock. Newer games like Manhunt 2 and Left 4 Dead surprise with high-definition violence, while classic arcade games like Soldier of Fortune deliver jaw-dropping dismemberment.
