Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan is an incredible film, nominated for 11 Academy Awards and winning five. The World War II story follows the 2nd Ranger Battalion's mission to bring Private Ryan home after his three brothers are killed in action. What sets Saving Private Ryan apart is its gruesome, action-packed, and well-crafted portrayal of war, which changed the genre forever. With a talented cast and haunting quotes, the film still demands a rewatch, despite the painful memories of character deaths that come with it. But which death is the most devastating of all?
