In the finals, Dignitas and Curse NA chose "All-Random, All-Mid." Players picked random champions, and both teams fought only in the middle lane. This choice was odd; ARAM is usually just fun PvP, not serious competition. The teams met early and split the $40,000 prize regardless of the result.
Both teams faced disqualification, yet no players received bans. The teams made their cheating obvious for a reason. They could have played fully and split the money; that would have looked less suspicious and given the crowd more action.
