Maggie Gyllenhaal gives a classic a fresh spin with The Bride!, a gothic romance inspired by Bride of Frankenstein. Jessie Buckley stars as Ida, a woman brought back to life, alongside Christian Bale as Baron Frankenstein. The cast also includes Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. With Gyllenhaal directing, The Bride! combines moody visuals, sharp dialogue, and big emotions for a timeless yet new feel. The story revolves around Dr. Euphronius and Baron Frankenstein, who resurrect a murdered woman to create a companion for Frankenstein. As Ida awakens, she's thrown into a world of love, danger, and existential questions. Her presence sparks chaos in society and in the hearts of those around her, yielding striking lines that linger.
