Katie Dippold, a veteran of comedy and genre fiction, created the Apple TV+ series Widow's Bay. Matthew Rhys stars as Mayor Tom Loftis and executive produces the ten-part show. Kate O'Flynn shines as Patricia, while Stephen Root brings eccentricity to Wyck. Together, they craft a setting that's both familiar and bizarre. The story follows Tom Loftis as he settles into a New England island town with his teenage son Evan. As Tom tries to lead a normal life as mayor, he faces supernatural threats, including a Sea Hag and the Boogeyman. The Breakwater Inn, where time seems to warp, is the site of many strange events. Flashbacks to 1702 reveal the dark past of town founder Richard Warren and his wife Sarah, explaining the curse that still haunts the town today. With its blend of humor and horror, the show features many memorable lines.
