About this list

Anders Breivik, responsible for the 2011 Norway attacks, carried out two terrorist attacks on July 22, 2011, in Oslo and Utøya. In Oslo, he detonated a car bomb near the prime minister's office, killing eight and injuring hundreds. An hour and a half later, Breivik, dressed as a police officer, attacked a youth summer camp in Utøya, killing 69 and injuring 110. Before the attacks, he emailed a manifesto to 1,000 people, outlining his Islamophobic beliefs and claiming his acts were meant to save Norway. Breivik would likely face death row in the US, but Norway focuses on rehabilitation. He serves the maximum 21-year sentence. Despite his relatively comfortable cell, Breivik complains about his prison life, making demands that seem absurd, considering he killed 77 people.
