Avengers: Infinity War Easter Eggs Most Missed

About this list

Avengers: Infinity War caps 10 years of superhero movies, building on 18 previous films with hidden references packed into its runtime. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is notorious for Easter eggs, from comic book and pop culture nods to series callbacks. These bonuses make the films more enjoyable and can spark wild speculation about the series' direction. They're not just goofy jokes. With extreme attention to detail, it's tough to catch every reference, and even keen viewers will miss some in Avengers: Infinity War. The film heavily references the inspiring comic books, but not all Easter eggs come from them. While calling Drax Mr. Clean is a widely recognized reference, others likely flew under the radar.

    The Collector Captured A Never-Nude

Avengers: Infinity WarThe Russo brothers directed more than just Avengers: Infinity War. They also directedCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and several episodes of the funny sitcomArrested Development. The Russo brothers like putting odd references toArrested Developmentin their Marvel films. For example, the Bluth family'sstair car appeared inCivil War. InInfinity War? They put Tobias Fünke into a glass tube.

As the Guardians sneak up on Thanos while he interrogates the Collector, Gamora walks past a glass cylinder. It holds a mustachioed blue man in jean shorts. It does not look likeactor David Cross from Arrested Development, but the reference is clear. The Collector got one of the only known "Never-Nudes" in the universe.actor David Cross in there, but the reference is clear. The Collector got one of the only known "Never-Nudes" in the entire universe.

Thor's Muzzle Mirrors Loki's In 'The Avengers'

During the first fight scene inInfinity War, Ebony Maw uses his metal magic to trap Thor. Thanos uses Thor's stuck state to talk to Loki and kill him in front of his brother. Maw puts a metal muzzle on Thor so he cannot argue and save his brother.

That muzzle looks almost exactly like the one they put on Loki at the end ofThe AvengersThor can't help Loki after he finally becomes good, which makes this a sad callback to him trying to trick people or perform tricks.

There's A Kebab Shop In Edinburgh Similar To The Shawarma Place In 'The Avengers'

During the scene where Vision asks Scarlet Witch to stay in Edinburgh, a sign for deep-fried kebab lights up. This detail likely references the shawarma joint the team frequents after the Battle of New York in 2012'sThe Avengers. This reference is odd, but it shows the Avengers coming full circle.

Stan Lee Isn't Surprised By Spaceships Because He's A Watcher Informant

MCU fans now know that comic book creator Stan Lee appears in every film at this point.Infinity WarAs Ebony Maw's spaceship lands in New York City, Peter Parker needs to escape the school bus. He jumps out, and we see Stan Lee is the bus driver. He loudly states he does not get why everyone is panicking about a spaceship.

This is funny on its own. His knowledge of spaceships likely points to his role as a Watcher Informant at the end ofGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Stan Lee's character appears in many films because he spies on humanity for the ancient, god-like Watchers.Infinity War, the Watcher Informant has seen strange things, so a spaceship does not impress him. Still, a regular bus driver saying that is strange, meaning the Informant's disguise is failing. Hopefully, no one noticed!

Yes, That Was Red Skull, But With A New Actor

When Gamora and Thanos travel to Vormir for the Soul Stone, a Grim Reaper-type character tells them what they need to become worthy of the object. Fans ofCaptain America: The First AvengerFans likely saw the figure as Red Skull but were probably confused by his different voice and how he ended up on a random planet.

Red Skull sounds different because Hugo Weaving did not reprise his role. The Walking Dead's Ross Marquand voices the character inInfinity War. Red Skull lands on Vormir after touching the Tesseract. He could not wield any Infinity Stones, so he became the keeper of the Soul Stone, forced to help others take what he wanted for himself.. Red Skull is on Vormir because he touched the Tesseract. He lacked the strength for Infinity Stones, so he became the Soul Stone keeper, doomed to let others possess what he desired.

Ebony Maw Is Killed Just Like The Alien From 'Aliens'

If you have not brushed up on your knowledge, check this out. This is Alien.Spider-Man's quip about the movie appeared in recent film lore. This is Aliens.while on Ebony Maw's spaceship probably sounds like it came out of nowhere. What does that movie have to do with anything? Spider-Man refers to how the alien is killed inThis is Aliens.. In that film, Ripley opens an airlock on the spaceship, sucking everything out. This action also scoops up the alien queen and throws her into space, killing her.

Spider-Man's plan to kill Ebony Maw is the same. Since engaging him directly seems nearly impossible due to his power, they open a hole in the spaceship side and watch Maw get sucked out dead. Thanks, James Cameron!

Thanos Looks Like Grimace From McDonald's Commercials

Only Star-Lord rivals Tony Stark in tossing insults, and the Guardian'sInfinity War shows Thanos looking like Grimace from McDonald's commercials.Thanos's insult is all-time great. Meeting Thanos, Star-Lord calls him Grimace. People who did not grow up in the '80s can just let the reference slide, but it is very smart. Grimace is one of Ronald McDonald's friends in the classic commercials for the burger joint.

He is a big, purple monster that looks like Thanos. Perhaps less muscular, but if he stopped selling cheeseburgers, he might become the universe's most powerful thing.

Rocket Has A Proven Love Of Severed Body Parts, Especially Eyes

Rocket has a fascination with severed body parts. Rocket has gotten a detached limb or eyeball in every movie he was in. In the firstGuardians of the Galaxy features Rocket's proven love for severed body parts, especially eyes., Rocket makes Star-Lord grab a fake leg as a prank. Later in that film, he tries to get someone to get him an eye from one of Yondu’s Ravagers. In the second movie, Baby Groot brings Rocket a prosthetic eye from somewhere never explained.

So when Thor shows up with one eye, it makes sense Rocket would have a replacement. The color does not match any stolen eyes, but we can assume he has several ready. Anyone willing to smuggle prosthetic eyes in their anal cavity likely has more than one.

Loki's Boast That 'We Have A Hulk' Mirrors Stark's Line In 'The Avengers'

Hulk smashing Loki during his monologue is one of the best scenes in the MCU. Stark counters Loki's army claim by stating, "We have a Hulk," suggesting no force could stop the Hulk's power.

Loki responds to Thanos' threat inInfinity WarLoki says the same thing. This reference shows Loki joins the Avengers; he changed his ways. The fight between Thanos and the Hulk shows Thanos' great power. Thanos defeats the Hulk, a god, but the Mad Titan beats the Hulk fast. Thanos is real.
