About this list

Tim Burton's long-awaited Beetlejuice Beetlejuice sequel is full of references and Easter eggs. The 1987 goth comedy masterpiece gets nods that longtime fans will instantly recognize. One pleasant surprise is that the sequel avoids on-the-nose fan-service Easter eggs. Instead, it continues or tweaks running gags, like Harry Belafonte's “Banana Boat” and Delia's “dangerous” sculptures. These Easter eggs are subtle, unlike those in Deadpool & Wolverine, but they're worth catching - some even pay off jokes set up by Burton, Michael Keaton, and company almost 40 years ago.
