    From Redditor u/Used-Block9719:

I still do not grasp why he thinks that was "nothing" or "no big deal" in his head.

He peed on my wedding dress inside the hotel room the night of our wedding.

I yelled at him constantly. He said he was just "marking his territory." He claimed he wanted to do this before marriage. He did not tell me because he was sure I would get angry. He said it was worth it since he could do it.

He assured me the pee washes off easily and I should not worry. I remained furious and disgusted by what he did. He acted like nothing happened. I could not shake the awful feeling and sight. I could not sleep in the bed with him after that.

TL;DR: My husband peed on my wedding dress the night of our wedding. I was so angry I could not sleep in the same bed as him.

    From Redditor u/[deleted]:

Six years ago, I swapped my then-girlfriend's cat with a lookalike that behaved better.

She owned an all-black cat that was very aggressive. It scratched everyone, hissed at everyone, and often ignored its litterbox. My wife insisted she could make it better. One week, she left for family. I was supposed to go to her apartment and feed it.

The first night I visited, it scratched my arm badly. I joked to the cat that it was not special and I would replace it if it scratched again. The joke stayed with me until I thought it was not a joke.

The next morning, I went to the local animal shelter. I found an identical cat that was already litterbox trained and used to people. It was a little shy, though; the shelter staff said the old owner had a heart problem, which they thought caused it.

I adopted it. I took it to my wife's apartment and settled it in. Then, I drove her original cat to an animal shelter in another town. I worried my wife would find out if I took it to a local one.

Six years passed. We married four years ago. We still have the swapped cat. It uses the original cat's name. My wife knows nothing. She loves this cat and boasts about how much better behaved it is. Seeing it makes me feel terrible.

TL;DR: My then-girlfriend had an aggressive cat that always hissed and scratched people. Secretly, I took the cat to a shelter in another town and adopted an identical one. We married, and she still does not know.

    From Redditor u/Throw_awayP9767:

I have seen Adam, 32, for two years. He lives in another town but visits me on weekends. I never met his family or friends. I never visited his town. I know he works at the church and takes pride in that job.

Three weeks ago, I learned he is married with two kids. I felt devastated and disbelieving. Anger hit hard, especially after I confirmed this using his wife's social media.

We still talk. I did not break up with him. I planned to show myself to his family at his church on Sunday. I will tell them he used me and took advantage. I plan to end it then.

I am staying at a hotel in his town now. I will do this tomorrow; no one knows except me. He texts me lies, thinking I am stupid or ignorant.

I feel terrible, but something makes me do this. Anger or pity for his wife and kids drives me. I will not lie; I worry this could backfire. But I have nothing to lose. I need to regain my respect and dignity after being lied to and fooled for two years.

TL;DR: My boyfriend of two years is married with two kids. I plan to show up at the church he works at this Sunday. I will tell his wife the truth about her husband.

    From Redditor u/Flamingseaturtle:

When my husband is angry, he eats an almond so I cannot kiss him.

I am severely allergic to tree nuts. Touching almonds causes a rash.

    It is so mean.

    From Redditor u/lol-leah:

I am a 22-year-old female, and he is a 33-year-old male. This morning, my boyfriend asked me to come over at 4. I agreed, arrived at 4, and apparently, whatever he was doing took too long. He did not get home until 5. I waited there alone for an hour.

I sat at his desk and saw his journal open. I read the newest entry. I wish I had not. I know this shows total disrespect for privacy. It said something like, "I was looking at pictures of OP and me today. I cannot believe she is my girlfriend. She is ugly—definitely more than just a little ugly."

Reading that felt like a punch to the gut. This confirms he thinks I am ugly. That makes me sad and angry.

I am annoyed that he holds these old standards and judges me harshly with them. He plays the part of a "highly evolved, spiritual, self-aware man." He called me ugly. I am hurt.

TL;DR: I was alone at my boyfriend's place for over an hour while waiting for him. I saw his journal open to his last entry. I read it and found out he thinks I am ugly. I feel hurt.

    From Redditor u/Lasybossstager:

I secretly put money in my pants pockets so my husband will do the laundry.

I put $5 to $10 a week in my clothes. He thinks he is cheating me because we share a weekly budget. He does not know he is part of my budget.

If I try to do the laundry, he says, "No, I have it!" It is worth every cent.

TL;DR: I always leave money in my pants pockets so my husband does the laundry. Now, if I try the laundry, he insists he has it.

    From Redditor u/SilverMedalss:

My husband moderates several subreddits and acts like it's just a job.

My husband refuses to find a real job, even though I think it would help him (and give us more money). He just says he has too much going on monitoring those stupid subreddits.

Every time I mention it, he claims his work is unpaid labor, like a homemaker's. But he doesn't clean, cook, or do those things like he used to. He just monitors his subreddits. I don't know what to do.

Sometimes, I want to leave him because I worry I cannot reach him.

TL;DR: My husband moderates Reddit subreddits and won't get a real job because of it. He adds nothing and just focuses on moderating.

    Redditor u/audreyfrancis:

I saw my husband with another woman.

I knew his location and he was at a suspicious spot. I drove there and found him in the parking lot with a tall blonde woman, kissing her.

I tried to follow them but was too slow. He turned off his phone, so I lost his location. Eventually, he turned it back on, and he was at some random house.

I will go there soon to confront him.

TL;DR: My husband and I share locations. One day, I followed him and saw him kissing another woman.

    Redditor u/wedonttalkabt:

For our second child, the first girl, my wife needed a C-section. The doctor only allows a scheduled C-section at 39 weeks. My wife could pick any day and really wanted our daughter born on 2/22/22.

I cannot lie, but that was the only day of the week I could not be free. A coworker asked for the day off early. I argued with my boss, but he said he would fire me if I missed work. Even if that was a lie, I have money problems this year and could not risk it being true.

I asked my wife for weeks, but she would not change the date, saying 'her body, her choice.' I agree it is her body, but I did not want to miss my daughter's birth. I did not want to wait hours to hold my daughter. I also wanted to be there for my wife, but she did not seem to care.

She just wanted our daughter to have a cool birthday over me giving presents. Knowing weeks before I would miss my daughter's birth has hurt me.

Four hours ago, my daughter was born, and I have not held her yet. I feel many emotions right now, and I must keep a straight face because I am at work.

My wife set a C-section date for our second child: 2/22/2022. I agreed it was a good birthday, but I could not miss work or risk getting fired. My wife will not move the date, leaving me conflicted.

    From Redditor u/ja2wex:

My husband likes IPA beer. It makes him smell terrible; it reeks from his pores and spoils our sheets and pillowcases. Brand or quality of IPA does not change this; the beer chemistry does not mix with his body chemistry.

His favorite beer comes from a local brewpub. He drank about two-thirds of their IPA growlers weekly. He could not take it anymore, so one day at lunch, I asked the owner to speak with him.

He is a cool guy. He dislikes IPAs because they let many bad breweries open; IPAs require little skill to make, and people hide mistakes with intense flavors.

My husband and I made a deal. Whenever he came in, his coworkers would tell him they were out of IPA but offer him a discounted lager. We hoped he would stop liking IPA and stop smelling up our house. I even offered the owner I would pay him for the lost discount, and he told me not to worry.

The deal worked. I tricked my husband's taste buds into liking lighter beer. He seems past the bad IPA stage now, and he smells much better.

My husband loves IPAs, but they cause bad smells. I conspired with the local brewery to always say they were out of IPAs when he visited. It worked, and my husband now likes lighter beer.

    From Redditor u/fourty-tw0:

I planned a surprise birthday party for my ex-boyfriend. I invited his close friends Monday and told them to go to a local bar Friday. I made a secret GroupMe with everyone but him to coordinate; his friends planned a cake and other things.

The plan was to invite my boyfriend for a hang-out—just the two of us—on Friday night to "just grab a beer together."

He broke up with me on Wednesday, and I had not invited him to the bar yet, but I invited him anyway. Later, it seemed weird. He said, "I don’t want to be with you anymore," and I replied, "Oh. Okay. You still want to grab a beer Friday though??"

When we arrived, he was very surprised. He seemed happy.

The party felt strange to me, but I did not make a big deal of it in front of his friends. They thought we were still together, which they should have because we both acted like it and said nothing. They even saved two seats for us next to each other at the bar.

The party ended up fun for him; everyone else had a good time. I drank, and the breakup felt fresh, so I cried a couple of times in the bathroom. That's life.

TL;DR: My boyfriend broke up with me before the surprise birthday party I planned. I pushed the party through anyway, and everyone still thought we were together. It felt really weird for me.

    From Redditor u/bumblingbirdy:

My father is distant from the kitchen. He does not know my mother sneaks ingredients in like a toddler.

I visited my parents recently. The topic of my mom's recipes came up. I described making a meatloaf exactly like she did growing up. She loves knowing I carry her traditions. Two ingredients made my dad's head swivel fast; he cracked his neck. "That's not how your mother makes it; I would never eat that!"

He did not know my mom put ketchup on top of her meatloaf to save time. Regular meatloaf topping uses brown sugar, spices, and tomato sauce; vinegar forms three key parts of ketchup.

He also did not know there were finely grated carrots in his meatloaf. The man eats two vegetables, broccoli, and bacon asparagus; nothing else bothers him.

My mom gave me a look when I brought it up. She said I must have gotten that recipe online instead of facing the result of explaining for twenty years that she and my father used cooking shortcuts to sneak veggies.

TL;DR: My dad thinks my mom makes all his meals from scratch. He does not know she uses cooking shortcuts. He also doesn't know she finely grates vegetables to hide them in meals and trick him into eating them.

    From Redditor u/Dominusatrox:

We drive to work together daily because our jobs are close. This used to cause arguments about her being late.

I wake at 6:30 to get ready. She gets up at 6:45, but she loves the snooze button. We leave at 7:35. Hitting snooze twice (seven minutes each) leaves her thirty-five minutes to get ready, which is never enough.

Every morning, I set her alarm thirteen minutes early, leaving me two minutes to start the coffee. She wakes up and showers. While she showers, I set the alarm back to the right time. For about eight months now, she thinks showering, dressing, and applying makeup takes her fifteen minutes.

She comments sometimes on how much she improved with being late. I smile and say, "Yes, love you; you really have."

Sometimes a small white lie works well.

TL;DR: My wife used to complain about being late for work. Now, I set her alarm thirteen minutes early before she wakes up each morning. While she showers, I reset the alarm to the normal time. We are not late now, and sometimes she comments on how much better she is at being on time.

I think he just did not want to die alone. He was kind to me, and I will miss him for that.

    From Redditor u/stinkyspamfartz:

My wife works the third shift at a major hospital nearby. She has worked a tough schedule of back-to-back days for weeks since returning from maternity leave. Some days, she does not see me or our three-month-old son.

I teach, so I am home during the summer. I am the main caregiver when I do not have football practice. The other night, she ruined our son's sleep schedule by accident. She had a mental breakdown, threw her glasses, and cried because she feels she does not know her son's life and is a bad mom. She is a great mother and wife; she makes a huge impact on many people's lives.

She came home this morning to start a three-day break streak. We lay on the ground playing with our son, and she tickled his tummy. He laughed loudly, and she started crying happy tears. This was the first giggle she experienced; I joined her, and we celebrated our son's first giggle together. Now she sleeps, happy and content.

That was not his first giggle. He has giggled with me a few times this week. That is a secret that stays with me forever. This morning will always be his first laugh, always. She earned that moment of pure joy and happiness.

So, yes, I lied to my wife today. I am fine with that. That is all.

My wife has a hard work schedule, so she does not get much time with our baby. One morning, she heard our baby giggle and became emotional, thinking it was our son's first giggle. I knew it was not, but I went along with it and lied. It was a happy moment.

Before bed, I called my girlfriend with a low battery and told her I would talk until my phone died. She started talking about The Bachelor, and I pretended my phone died by hanging up.

    I regret nothing.
