Star Wars, an epic space saga, was brought to life by director George Lucas and set dresser Roger Christian, who created the intergalactic spacecraft and futuristic items on screen. Fans of the series often wonder how the props were made. With a limited budget for Star Wars: A New Hope, the set design team had to get creative. They went DIY to design authentic-looking props without breaking the bank. Using airplane scrap metal, personal care products, broken audio-visual equipment, Tupperware, and appliances, the team crafted iconic devices for the cast. George Lucas and Roger Christian's resourcefulness turned scrappy sets into phenomenal cinema.
