They do not consume happiness or joy for sustenance. They consume them to create misery and despair; they thrive on that. Azkaban was good for them because they wanted the misery and despair it offered. This is where they thrive and reproduce. That is why they excelled when things escalated in book seven; eating happiness is just a means to an end.

From Redditoru/DarrenGrey:
The Lord of the Rings drafts originally used the name 'Aragorn' for Gandalf's horse.

From Redditoru/Gallade2712:
Both canon and legends show Ewoks eating the stormtrooper they killed. They later used the helmets as drums for the victory celebration.

From a formerRedditor:
Kreacher actually started liking the trio. He was cooking a good meal for them when they were forced to leave 12 Grimmauld Place.

From Redditoru/Jazzinarium:
A single Balrog (Durin's Bane) or a single dragon (Smaug) were terrifying in the Third Age. In the First Age, Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, had armies of both. He also commanded more orcs than Anfauglith—a plain the size of Gondor and Mordor combined could not hold at once.
27 - 6

From Redditoru/Yamureska:
There is more than one Sarlacc in the universe. The story of how Sarlaccs reproduce by shooting spores through space is creepy. It sounds like something from Lovecraft.
25 - 7

From a formerRedditor:
Sam takes on Shelob. The books state he is the only one, among dwarves, men, and elves, who ever seriously wounded her.
24 - 8

From a formerRedditor:
InThe Philosophers Stone, Chapter 15, page 276 (UK version): Harry is saved from Voldemort by Firenze. Harry rides on his back through the Forbidden Forest when they meet two other centaurs, Ronan and Bane. The centaurs upset Firenze for 'messing with the heavens' when they say.
'What have you been telling him?' growled Bane. 'Remember, Firenze, we are sworn not to set ourselves against the heavens. Have we not read what is to come in the movements of the planets?'
I got excited reading this. This proves the centaurs' stargazing is correct; they foresaw Harry and Voldemort's prophecy. They were angry at Firenze for saving Harry when the stars showed Voldemort needed to kill him! Interesting!

From Redditoru/jaybaybay940:
When Quidditch began, seekers chased a small golden bird called a snidget. As the snidget population dropped, a man named Bowman Wright invented the first golden snitch.

From Redditoru/EternalGiga:
InLegendsAfter Greedo died, the bartender ground his corpse into a drink. He served it at the bar, keeping Greedo's head on a stake. Bounty holders later stole the body and held a private funeral for him. This remains the strangest explanation for Greedo's corpse.Star Warshistory.
