25 Awful Things Frats Did That Got Them Kicked Off Campus

In November 2015, news broke that Yale SAE members hosted a "White Girls Only" party, blocking women of color from entry. Yale sophomore Neema Githere shared this story via a Facebook post.A Yale SAE chapter member turned away a group of girls from their party last night. They explained admittance was 'White Girls Only.' Also, a Yale SAE member turned me and my friends away for the same reason last year. God Bless the USA.

SAE members denied the accusation. Githere said they sent a Black pledge to her dorm to discuss the event. He told her the brothers admitted people based on looks, not race.

The Daily BeastThe Daily Beast investigated Githere's story. They found issues, such as Githere and her friends were not turned away the year before. They only overheard one brother say there were too many Black women at the party. They left after Githere's male friend heard the remark and got angry. None of this reflects well on SAE.

During a December 2013 retreat in the Poconos, a freshman Pi Delta Psi pledge...Chun Hsien Deng wore a backpack full of sand while running a gauntlet of tackling would-be brothers, blindfolded. One "spearing" incident lifted him and dropped him, knocking Deng unconscious and causing a brain injury. The frat did not seek medical help right away. The 19-year-old freshman recruit died.

House cleaners found... George Desdunes died on a couch at his fraternity house. Zipties and duct tape wrapped his ankles. He had a BAC of 4.0. The pledge was kidnapped, blindfolded, and bound at the ankles and wrists. He faced trivia about Sigma Alpha Epsilon; wrong answers meant a vodka shot.
