Dumbledore gave Neville house points for a specific, personal reason. People discuss Neville's points from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone flippantly, treating them like an afterthought compared to the main heroes' points that secured the Gryffindor win. I believe Dumbledore valued Neville's points most because of their final, important position in the overall house cup.
Dumbledore states the lesson plainly: "It takes great bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends." Dumbledore valued this lesson because he once failed to stand up to Grindelwald, losing his family. Grindelwald was his enemy, which gave Dumbledore the courage to face him. Dumbledore admired Neville's action; Neville did something he never could as a student. Neville's points brought true victory, not just Harry's five extra points. Being true to your principles, even when friends disagree, shows the truest moral courage.

Has anyone seen Sirius know Neville's name without meeting him? Sirius recognized Neville as Frank and Alice Longbottom’s son. Sirius remembered they named him Neville. Sirius is a thoughtful person.

George finds the Resurrection Stone in the Forbidden Forest. He uses it to speak with Fred's spirit. Fred tells George he enjoys the afterlife, playing pranks against Snape with the Marauders. Fred asks George to promise he will return to his cheerful self and continue pranking like old times until they meet again. When George dies, he will be buried next to Fred. One tombstone reads "Mischief," the other reads "Managed."

TL/DR: Neville is an accomplished wizard, but he struggles because he lacks his own wand and confidence.

A Dementor checks the Hogwarts Express as it crosses the grounds to Hogsmeade. Harry is affected; he either flashes back or the Horcrux reacts to Voldemort's attack. Ginny is ignored. She shakes in a corner, affected almost as much as Harry. This explains why. She likely flashes back, forced to relive killing roosters after being possessed by Tom Riddle's Diary. She relives what happened to Mrs. Norris (Ginny likes cats) and everyone else.

From Redditoru/stephm524:
Ginny’s poem to Harry holds a clue: she was under dark influence. The last line reads, “the hero who conquered the dark lord.” Only Death Eaters or wizards who sympathized with Voldemort, like the Blacks, call him the dark lord in the series. The Weasleys would never use that term and would not teach Ginny it. Tom Riddle in the diary probably called Voldemort the dark lord to Ginny, making it seem normal.

If Bill and Percy played Chasers, the Weasley children could field an entire Quidditch team alone (and a good one). This idea has been posted before, but I just realized that if Bill and Percy played Chasers, the Weasley children could field a whole team before the Battle of Hogwarts. The roster looks like this:

Was Oliver Wood the youngest Quidditch Captain? I suspect Oliver might be the youngest captain ever. In Book 1, he is a fifth year, but Fred and George mock him during his pre-game speech, saying, “We know Oliver's speech by heart, we were on the team last year.” If he was captain the year before, he would be a fourth year. Does this mean there is no limit to becoming captain? That would make him the youngest ever known. As Hermione pointed out in "HBP, he holds the same status as a Prefect (chosen in fifth year) but is only a fourth year.

Harry seems like an idiot, and he lacks real skills outside his jockish nature. The films do not show Harry’s competence and likability as much as Ron's wit and loyalty. Harry is smart. He is not a bookish genius like Hermione, but he might survive if he weren't nearly murdered every year. Harry does not need to monologue to show he knows things. Harry figures out Tonks is lovesick, even if he picked the wrong man.

For the first movie, Seamus Finnegan failed to turn water into rum. This happened because minors cannot drink alcohol at Hogwarts. Seamus did manage to turn his water into "a weak tea," so the spell did work something.

This happens near the book's end.Chamber of SecretsHarry and Ron hide in the staffroom wardrobe. They learn Ginny Weasley is taken by the "monster." This shocks Ron, making him collapse. About two months later inPrisoner of AzkabanLupin takes Harry's class to the staffroom. He goes to the exact same wardrobe. A Boggart lives there now. People say Boggarts embody fear. Dementors represent depression; Poltergeists show mischief. These are human emotions shaped into form. Ron feared his sister was kidnapped. His fear must have been huge. This fear caused the Boggart Lupin used. Young wizards cannot always control their magic after starting at Hogwarts, as Aunt Marge found out. In Hogwarts, Ron's fear took a physical shape. Peeves shows how student mischief forms something. After nearly a year of worry about the "Heir of Slytherin," Ron's fear became a focus for all those fears. Not every fear makes a Boggart, though. Lupin claims the Boggart appeared the day before his class, not months ago. That only means it was noticed then, not when it formed.

Seamus Finnegan has a fire-elf ancestor. This causes him to accidentally set things on fire. A joke suggests Seamus has fire spirit ancestry. This explains why any magic Seamus messes up ends in flames.

Hermione and Ginny grow closer during their eighth year. Ginny becomes more comfortable with the idea of Ron and Hermione dating. Ron worries about Hermione. He writes to Ginny, asking what Hermione is doing. He asks if she is working too hard or stressing out. Ron tries to get Ginny to promise to help Hermione de-stress before the NEWTS exams. I like Hermione and Ginny building a real friendship. I like them hanging out instead of Hermione becoming a loner, only having acquaintances.

From Redditoru/SatanV3:
Why is Dumbledore a Gryffindor? JK Rowling never made sense putting him in Gryffindor. Perhaps it stems from a bias that "Gryffindor equals good." Dumbledore seemed like a perfect Slytherin, maybe Ravenclaw. He was highly ambitious in his youth; we see how he manipulates things. He is a natural leader early on. Dumbledore fits all the Slytherin traits. It matters to show that even though Voldemort and many Death Eaters are Slytherin, the greatest wizard, Dumbledore, also came from Slytherin. Personally, I do not see him as Gryffindor.

From Redditoru/Swordbender:
Does anyone else feel Ron has the worst childhood among the Weasley siblings? Whether true or not, there is a strong argument for why Molly Weasley wanted a girl in the family. This scene shows Ron's fears well. He never felt enough love from the family or his mother. Molly and Arthur share responsibility, but Ron specifically mentions Molly, so she has something to say. Ron is not cool like Bill, talented like Charlie, smart like Percy, funny like the twins, or a girl like Ginny. In his view, that is why Molly likes them best. Based on the evidence, is he wrong that he is least appreciated?

Ginny Weasley died in the Chamber of Secrets. The Diary Soul Piece took over her body. Tom Riddle's soul piece absorbed all of Ginny's memories and lost his own. Thus, the Ginny we know is actually Voldemort. No one, including himself, will ever know.
