From Redditor u/WildVariety:

Aragorn carried the Shards of Narsil everywhere. He had them when he met the Hobbits in Bree. Rivendell reforged them for him before the Fellowship left.

From a former Redditor:

Sam fought Shelob. The books state he is the only one, among Dwarves, Men, and Elves, to seriously wound her.

From Redditor u/drogyn1701:

Elrond examined Glamdring. He told Gandalf the sword belonged to the king of Gondolin; that is his great-grandfather. Elrond could have claimed the sword as a direct descendant if he wanted to.

From Redditor u/Swift_Samurai:

In Fellowship of the RingIn (2001), Arwen used the same sword, Hadhafang. Her father Elrond used it 3000 years earlier against Sauron.

From Redditor u/rjk34:

In LOTR: The Fellowship Of The Ring, the blade Lurtz threw at Aragorn was a real blade. He intended to throw it past Aragorn, but his mask hid his sight.

From Redditor u/Toaster-Retribution:

Most Elves probably cannot shoot down a Nazgûl in darkness casually. Legolas does this in the books (the fact that got cut is my main complaint about the movies). I think he is above most Elves of his time in the books, though he is not equal to Galadriel/Celeborn/Glorfindel.

From Redditor u/vejack:

In this scene of The Fellowship of the Ring, you see the axe Gimli later picked up and used in the movies.

From Redditor u/naner00:

In the early drafts of The Hobbit, Bilbo killed Smaug using the Arken Stone. I imagine this was how Tolkien told his child the oral story. Later, he had to change it for a book.

From Redditor u/Gingersnap911:

In LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf's staff is Radagast's staff; Gandalf removed his crystal. He used it then to keep his pipe until he was captured.
