Small Details About War Machine That MCU Fans Noticed

They might have swapped actors, but they handled it at the start.Iron Man 2, as noted by Redditor u/pinstrypsoldier:

InIron Man 2they addressed the Rhodey actor change right away.

Justin Hammer gave War Machine "The Ex-Wife," but it failed. Redditor u/E1eventeennoted why:

InIron Man 2, the Ex-Wife fails not because it’s "Hammer Tech," but because Rhodey failed to use it probably. Earlier Justin Hammer says it’s a "kinetic-kill side-winder vehicle." Meaning it needs to be accelerated to an extremely high velocity to be effective. Rhodey was way [too] close to his target.

Redditoru/tealfannoticed some similarities in a shot in Iron ManandAvengers: Endgame:

Avengers: EndgameThe shot of Rhodey saying goodbye to Tony mirrors the shot where he thought he lost him in Iron Man.

Redditoru/wawaboy2spotted something interesting on War Machine's armor that connects to his unit:

InIron Man 2War Machine has "ED 445 FLTS" on his shoulder. This is the tail code for the 445th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, where Rhodey upgraded the Mark II.

Rhodey pilots with the USAF, and his talk shows this, as Redditor u/Dankacy:

InAvengers Endgame (2019), War Machine says "Canopy, canopy, canopy" while stuck under Avenger Headquarters. He means "Eject, eject, eject." A pilot says this to their backseater or other pilots if their vehicle is not working.

Rhodey's armor is bulkier than Stark's, but Redditor u/SuperStryker7noticed it is heavier too:

InCaptain America: Civil War (2016), when Iron Man and War Machine land at the airport, War Machine's landing shakes the camera more than Iron Man's. This shows how much heavier his suit is.

Rhodey is a pilot at heart. Redditor u/EAZYG247noticed he acts like a pilot while flying his War Machine armor:

InCaptain America: Civil War, look closely at the right side of War Machine’s chest piece. You see tally marks of kills shaped like tiny Ultron heads, referencing the Sokovia battle in Age of Ultron.

Redditoru/NewieYuinoticed an alien link in Iron Man 2:

InIron Man 2. When Rhodes takes the suit, he flies it to Edwards Air Force Base. This base is the parent location of Area-51, which allegedly studies Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs).

Redditoru/JustAwesome360noticed a nice Easter egg about LTC Rhodes's ringtone:

InIron Man, Rhodes's ringtone for his phone is the theme song to the Iron Mancartoonfrom 1966.

Redditor u/WumboAsian noticed how War Machine got his name inIron Man 2:

InIron Man 2, Tony calls Rhodey a War Machine, which gave him the name idea.

Redditoru/-the-dude_noticed a detail about War Machine's armor inAvengers: Endgame:

InAvengers EndgameIn 2019, Ant-Man answers Rhodey's call. The War Machine Mark VII Armor appears in the background. Rhodey wears this armor in the final battle.

The first part showed this.Iron ManIn the Iron Man movie, Rhodey walked past the silver armor. He said, "Next time, baby." A vision of his future armor appeared, as noticed by Redditor u/DevChemestry.u/DevChemestry:

During Marvel Studio’s first film credits, Iron Man,You see War Machine fully geared up before the events ofIron Man 2.
