On December 3, 1957, seven-year-old Maria Ridulph vanished from a street corner in her neighborhood. Her body was discovered five months later, 100 miles from her home in Sycamore, IL. Despite several leads, no clear suspect emerged, and Ridulph's murder became a cold case. In 2008, a breakthrough in the case led to Jack McCullough (then known as John Tessier) being brought in. He was convicted of the crime in 2012, seemingly solving the murder. However, the case took another turn: McCullough was wrongly imprisoned. He was released from prison in 2016, and the charges against him were dropped. With Jack McCullough's innocence established, Maria Ridulph's case is once again open, and her murder remains unsolved.
