The Marvel Cinematic Universe, with over twenty films spanning decades, alternate dimensions, and space, is bound to have problems. Fans have found them. By exposing major plot holes, issues emerge that are hard to ignore. For instance, did Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. really plan to assemble the Avengers, or was it accidental? Most main players were discovered by chance or with resistance. Thanos' finger snap also raises questions - can he really achieve his goals with rapid population growth? Chronologically, Captain Marvel, Far From Home, and Infinity War have temporal issues. These plot holes might be a game changer for every MCU fan.

From Redditor /u/TeamNerdProductions : In Captain America: Civil War, they show the Hulk smashing buildings in the New York Incident. They use this as an example to argue for the Sokovia Accords because they caused too much damage.Redditor /u/TeamNerdProductions:
InCaptain America: Civil Warthey show the Hulk smashing buildings in the New York Incident using that as one of their examples of why they need the Sokovia Accords, citing the damage caused. But inAvengers, the New York tesseract fight, they launch a fat nuke at the city, which Iron Man sends through the portal. The other incident can be blamed on them, but a huge nuke would have done much more damage than the Avengers did.

What did he use the stones for? Kill half the universe to save the other half? He must think it is overpopulated.
Then he does not want anyone using the stones again, so he destroys them, which is stupid.
The universe will repopulate itself within a few decades. The human population took 200 years to grow from 1 billion to 7 billion after we became more civilized.
Thanos's plan failed from the start, unless he planned to kill half the universe every 100 years. But he destroyed the stones because he is foolish.

Captain MarvelIn one of Carol's memories, she arrives at the bar with Maria playingSFII. The first version of that game came out in 1991, while she left Earth in 1989.

The Skrull set the trap for Vers at the start because they needed information (stored in her head) about the hidden ship. Later, without the information, a Skrull sniper assassin tried to kill Vers in front of the phone booth at Radio Shack while she spoke with Fury. This makes no sense; they needed her alive, which contradicts the Skrull goal.

Nick planned this team for a long time. Who did he plan to put on the team? He did not want Iron Man because he does not play well with others. Captain America was a surprise they found in the ice and did not plan for him. Thor joined because his brother was involved (which they did not plan for). They brought Banner in as a scientist instead of the Hulk. Hawkeye was only there to get back at Loki. So, who would be on the team? A one-woman army of Black Widow?

InCivil War,T'Challa is killed, and T'Challa becomes king of Wakanda. Then, at the start ofBlack Pantherthey perform the ceremony for T'Challa to become king. But then inInfinity WarThey state the Sokovia Accords existed for three years, established inCivil War.
The Russo Brothers say, "This takes place shortly after the events ofBlack Panther". I think this is the real time between the films.. I would say this is equivalent to the real time between the films.
Does that mean T'Challa took three years to officially become king of Wakanda?

InRagnarokBanner sacrifices himself by jumping off the ship to release the Hulk. He also shot himself in the head, and the Hulk spat out the bullet.
The Hulk might sulk, but he will not allow the body to die.
If Banner runs at the big guy early on, the Hulk emerges because Banner's survival instinct takes over. The Hulk cannot help but get angry and win the fight.

EternalsI loved the film. I do not get why Ajak did not stop Thanos from taking 50% of the population earlier.
They could not intervene in "human affairs." But their goal is to grow intelligent life on Earth and make energy for emergence. Thanos, another Eternal, wiping out 50% of life is a huge setback to their progress. This is not really a human issue.

I am not the first to think this. The limit on Pym particles feels forced. They claim they only have enough for everyone to go back once plus two or one test run. Why not get more Pym particles for more chances, or let more people return, like Captain Marvel or anyone else? Honestly, it might be better not to take back someone super recognizable.
If you want more particles from the past, there are ways to get them:
Steal them
Talk to Pym. He probably will not be shocked by time travel given his work. Ask him for them.
Bring an extra suit and take Pym to the present so he can make more.
Make the particle issue not a problem. Then you can be much more careful. Use your options, get redos, and make things easier. Having him snapped and creating that shortage was smart. But it is still dumb they cannot get more. Time travel is hard to write.

Mysterio planned to become a famous superhero with a fake identity involving an alternate universe. A big problem is his face is everywhere in the news. People will recognize him. Friends, family, former neighbors, and coworkers will find out the truth fast. When he tries to frame Spider-Man in the end, proving he is a disgruntled former Stark employee should be simple.
He also pretends to be from an alternate universe. Since Marvel introduces the multiverse, this seems like a very lucky guess about the cosmos for an alias.

In Black Widow(2021) reveals the infamous Red Room, where Widows train, is actually a massive floating aircraft hidden in a cloud. Nobody else knew about it. This thing exceeds the size of the ISS. Some claim you see it above a secluded area after the Red Room crashed. But did the government know about this giant thing falling out of space? Did it get news coverage when it launched? Dreykov must have kept this huge space station hidden. What about days without clouds? People would see it then. The Red Room is so huge that ithasto be visible from nearby towns and cities. People driving through the countryside? Maybe the Red Room creates a cloud around it. Even so, how could the government and military miss the advanced tech in the sky? Perhaps the Red Room has a cloaking mechanism that makes it totally invisible and undetectable. Why didn't it use it?

This plot hole uses math and physics, which I do not master, so bear with me.
InThe Avengers, Loki throws Tony Stark from Stark Tower. He falls in freefall until his armor rockets to save him, stopping the fall with his feet.
The clip shows the fall lasts about 22 seconds. The Wikipedia Physics Institute states it takes 12 seconds to reach terminal velocity, during which a person falls about 1,500 feet. TV speed (176 feet per second) over the remaining 10 seconds adds another 1,760 feet to the drop.
That is a distance of 3,260 feet. This means Stark fell from 500-600 feet higher than the world's tallest building. However, this image and this one show Stark Tower the same height as the Chrysler Building, which reaches 1,046 feet, with the platform Stark fell from below that height.
Shouldn't Tony have landed on the sidewalk before his armor saved him?

The spell erased Peter Parker's existence. I still do not grasp how it removes photos, videos, and prints of photos people had with Peter. Do they just lose those photos and stop thinking about them? If MJ wants to show people a photo she took with friends in Europe, is there just an empty space where Peter should be in the picture?
Why does MJ still wear the Black Dahlia necklace Peter gave her if it wipes him out physically and mentally?Far From Home?

From Redditor /u/Opiumistrash:
We find out in Civil WarWakanda started an international outreach program, sending peace workers to Lagos. This starts the Sokovia Accords. InBlack PantherWakanda has not yet started international outreach, and this is ignored.

Why did Iron Man not let go of the nuke near the portal when he was on Earth? Wouldn't the nuke still hit the mothership?

From Redditor /u/SiriusBlackLivesmatr:
So in Avengers: Endgamethey establish that traveling to the past does not change the future; it just makes an alternate timeline or universe. But we see inDays of Future Pastthe X-Men universe contains both versions of the X-Men, Stewart and McAvoy groups. Changing the past actually changes the future; that was the whole movie plot.
And in Deadpool 2we saw Wade exists in the X-Men universe not just from interacting with Colossus and NTW, but when we see McAvoy and his class behind him asking where they are.
People talk about Deadpool and the X-Men joining the MCU. If they do, two conflicting time travel versions exist in the same cinematic universe, yet they cannot share a physical universe. One works like Back to the Futureand one does not.

From Redditor /u/fiendzone:
This is a possible plot hole based on a reasonable assumption, given how MCU movies use Easter eggs:
In Captain America: Winter Soldier, Agent Sitwell gets an interrogation from our heroes and names those on the HYDRA target list: Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Stephen Strange.
In Doctor Strange, right before the car crash that destroyed his hands and made him Sorcerer Supreme, he gets an offer to operate on an Air Force pilot with severe spinal injuries from an armored suit. I paraphrase, but the idea is the patient is Jim Rhodes, severely injured inCaptain America: Civil War.
The Air Force pilot could be someone else than Rhodes, but asWinter Soldiertook place before Civil WarHYDRA either had a device that predicts future threats, or HYDRA saw doctors as a threat. Alternatively, there is a major plot hole.

Spider-Man: Far From Hometakes place minutes afterAvengers: Endgameends. The official MCU timeline showsInfinity WarandEndgameThese events happen in 2017/2018. This feels wrong to me. Thinking more about it, some points struck me.
The MCU wiki states Peter Parker's birthday is August 10th, 2001.
In the official MCU movie timeline,Civil Wartakes place in 2016, making Peter 15.
Tony confronts Peter about being Spider-Man and joining him to go to Germany. Tony asks Peter if he has a passport; Peter says no.
Minors need to renew passports after five years.
In theFar From Hometrailer, we see Peter needing a new passport.
This meansFar From HomeFar From Home would need to happen in 2021 or later, almost four years afterInfinity War/Endgame.
TL;DR. MCU movie timelines and US passport lifespans showFFHmust take place in 2021, but it belongs in 2018
