About this list

Fear can be tough to understand. We don't always know why something terrifies us. All we know is that it scares us senseless. Logic doesn't always apply. Sometimes, there's no explanation. But that doesn't make the fear less real. In fact, being scared of something ordinary can be truly terrifying because you can't avoid it. We asked Graveyard Shift fans to share their normal fears, and their responses were surprisingly relatable. It's comforting to know you're not alone in your ordinary fears. Which everyday things make you feel like you're trapped in a horror movie? Comments have been edited for length and clarity.

    Storms

    From a Facebook commenter.Lynette E:

Thunder and lightning. I am better now, but I hid under covers during big storms. I nearly got hit by lightning as a kid (I thought it was close; I was maybe 9).

    This is gross and scary.

I cannot name a specific event (even after a goose chase), but birds terrify me.img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t1c/2/16/1f645_200d_2640.png" alt="🙅‍♀️"

    Eating

    From a Facebook commenter.Christina W:

Eating. I have life-threatening allergies. I have not eaten out in ages. No family meals or friend lunches; everything must be cooked specially. Panicking instead of having a worry-free meal is not fun.

    From a Facebook commenter.Art E:

I get close to this. I skip meals and hate eating with others in many episodes.

    From a Facebook commenter.Rachel S:

This is one of my biggest fears 😂. Thinking about it makes me gag. Someone brings jelly near me, I run, cry, or both 😂
