About this list

The Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special, airing February 16, 2025, celebrated the show's hilarious sketches and talented hosts. But it also tackled its problematic past in a Tom Hanks-hosted segment called 'In Memoriam.' Hanks said, 'As we celebrate 50 years of achievements, we must honor those we've lost: SNL characters and sketches that have aged horribly.' This included sketches with racial slurs, slut shaming, and sexual harassment. Notorious guests like O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Jared Fogel, Sean Combs, and R. Kelly also made appearances. Below, check out some of the most controversial sketches and vote up the ones that have aged poorly.

Everyone stared at me pitching. Lorne [Michaels] was not happy I added details to a bit, but they let me. I saw that as a safe place to do that, strangely.
