Big-time lawyers work in big firms. They mostly review documents and spend long hours at a desk.

Medical scenes always go wrong. Getting a consult on set is tough. Medical people are not hard to find.

Lab techs do not wear high heels in the lab. They do wear safety glasses.

Dispensary work demands constant alertness. Workers face many hurdles just to work in a dispensary, even in legal states. Good employees recall strain effects and discuss terpenes. This is hard work for many.

Accountants. The action thriller "The Accountant," starring Ben Affleck, did not truly show my job.

Any kind of fighting. It always seems ridiculous, but it has reached level 11 since all action moviesThese movies compete with superhero films. People take hits that cause long-term, disabling effects.

Gunshot effects require removing the bullet or people die. Then, a bandage covers it, and our hero gets back to work.

Computers—anything involving computers looks silly in movies. Hammering the keyboard feels more exciting than mouse-clicking, mouse-clicking, mouse-clicking, I guess.

Almost every sports movie shows bad form. Lines are cheesy, and players look stupid trying to perform. Rarely, they look athletic, but they play poorly.

    Being an author.

I did not meet my agent face-to-face until five years later. They shop my book for the best contract and negotiate terms. Then, I hear nothing until the next book. They do not approach me, become my friend, encourage me, or hustle for me.

There are no glam parties or world tours. Massive book launches feature A-Listers. I am basically a hermit who worked from home before COVID, meaning all the cool kids did this.

    Physicists act hilariously!

Showing actual physics in movies would make things dull. A friend took us on a tour of major experiments at Fermi. These underground machines, each the size of a large building, wait for ghost-like events. A sensor triggers a "bing." That is all. A couple of bings yearly. Make that a movie plot.

    Show any science, especially "Engineering".

Hollywood fails to grasp the split between scientists and engineers.

Scientists create ideas and prove they exist. They figure out the mechanics. Engineers then make those ideas and theories happen.

A scientist discovers combining two elements makes a super alloy. The engineer then figures out the exact conditions for that alloy to form.

Game development shows developers playing the game. This accounts for only about 1% of what developers actually do, besides QA.
