Deadpool and Logan proved R-rated superhero movies can thrive at the box office. Now, studios are racing to produce the next hit. Fans are suggesting comic book characters who deserve R-rated adaptations. With modern comics often featuring violent and gritty storylines, there are many potential stars for the next blockbuster. Marvel and DC Comics have plenty of anti-heroes who could lead R-rated films. Even traditional heroes like Batman could benefit from a less restrictive movie universe, giving fans a glimpse into the violent world of superheroes. As long as films like Deadpool and Logan keep making money, other characters will try to follow in their footsteps.
