Lindemann Claims That Putin Used Him As Propaganda

In June 2016, Rammstein performed inMoscow. During the tour, Russian promoters approached Till Lindemann. They thrust an iPhone into his hands. The phone showed the Russian President's face, saying it was a gift "with greetings from Vladimir Putin!". When asked about Moscow, Lindemann gave a thumbs up. He called it an excellent city.

That is Lindemann's story. Russian media tells it differently. They digitally altered Lindemann's t-shirt to show Putin's face. Reports said he made these remarks about Putin:

["German Chancellor"] Angela Merkel cannot boast popularity like Putin [...] I like him. He is a hard leader, not a puppet, unlike many.

"All these political attacks on your country are unfair, I think. Russia defends its interests, and sanctions should target those who lead dishonest games and cause international conflict."

Lindemann claims he never said that. He says he was a victim of Russian propaganda. He contacted a lawyer and plans a lawsuit.

The song is slow, heavy, and stomping. It is a kind of poem. I sing very darkly, then suddenly, "I want to f*ck!"Lindemann's mom left during a concert. She worked at a radio station.
