I am a mental health therapist.

One schizophrenic client said he saw a girl.in his room, and he said she talked to him.We thought it was a hallucination since he lived alone. The doctor I worked with decided to challenge his delusion and had him take a picture of her to 'meet her'.

During the next visit, he brought a picture. Yes, she was there. To our shock and horror, the picture showed him on the couch with a strange, creamy, ghost-like image of a girl hovering behind him, covered in white, wing-like hair or wings—very light, with a subtle shimmer! What scared us was seeing him sitting on the couch, head down and looking very depressed. She was haunting him.

Jaws hit the floor. A pin dropped. Everyone checked the picture. We knew it was real. The guy was low-functioning; he could not have shopped it. Things became real. We were haunted.

The doctor was amazed; he said medication would not fix this and stated, "I cannot help you with this. You need to see your clergy about this."

"Once I stayed over at a friend'shouseand slept in her bed. She had a large double bed pushed against the wall, so we both slept there. I slept with my back to the room that night, with my friend sleeping next to me.

Midway through the night, I started a very detailed dream about work. The dream held no real meaning, just something silly. Then it grew scary. A man wearing a mask (like a Japanese kabuki mask) chased me around my workplace, trying to kill me. Then I woke up because I felt someone standing right behind me. The dream continued, and the man found me. My waking state set in more, as I felt someone gently stroke my hair. Terrified, I lay there, a bit confused, still somewhat in the dream. Then I heard a gravelly voice from behind me say, "Hello little girl," and other things I cannot recall, plus the feeling of someone still stroking my hair.

I was fully awake but lying still, eyes shut, fearing for my life. Finally, I found the nerve to sit up and look around the room. No one was there. Even now, I remember the deep, gravelly sound of his voice.

What made it real for me was when I told the dream to my friend. She told several frightening stories of seeing an older man spirit wander her house.

"When I was about 13 or 14 I lived in a normal block ",houseIn a suburban neighborhood, my family lived there. The previous tenant told us her husband died in the house, but she gave no specific location. One night, after I turned off the lights for sleep, I heard loud rustling, then a BANG. I jumped up and flipped the lights on. Everyone heard it and ran to the hallway to check if I was okay. Looking into my room, I saw my jewelry box, which has doors on the front, completely open with all drawers hanging out. I quickly threw it into the closet and never took it out again.

I still hear things in that house. One night, watching something funny on TV in my room, I heard a man laugh in my ear, clear as day. That sound did not come from the TV.

I am pretty sure I am the only person in my family. My family does not have a personal ghost story. I think my family is very smart; they would not make this up. Yet, it is hard to picture something you have never experienced. So, here are some of their stories; they are pretty creepy! This film lacks a personal ghost story. My family members are very smart; they would not invent this. However, imagining an experience you have never had is difficult. Here are some of their stories; they are creepy!

They consider their parents' room the most haunted. While my mother and uncle were hiding under the bed covers during what felt like a contest, they heard something playing with the vacuum cleaner. My mom bolted, leaving my uncle alone. He finally sprang up, ran, and jumped off the top of a steep stairway, then floated to the bottom where my grandpa waited with open arms. They all swear he could not have jumped all those steps.

They thought their parents' room was the most haunted. My mother and uncle were competing somehow and hid under the bed covers. They heard something playing with the vacuum cleaner, and my mom ran out, leaving my uncle alone. He finally jumped out of bed, ran, and dove off the top of a steep stairway. He then floated to the bottom of the stairs where my grandpa waited with open arms. They all assert he could not have jumped all those steps.

Apparently, they had babysitters who would leave the house in the middle of the night because of scary things that happened.

    .things that happened.

Later, around age ten, my mom cleaned the local restaurant after closing. Rumors said the place was haunted. She had so many scary experiences she would not go alone. So, my stepfather started going with her and experienced some of the craziness.

She would stack chairs on tables, briefly turn around, and put them back down. The 'ghosts' liked running in and out of the large metal kitchen door. One night, this happened repeatedly. My stepfather finally put a tall metal bread rack in front of the door. Moments later, they heard a loud bang. They checked. Something hit the door so hard it dented the bread rack on the other side.

My older sister lived alone in an old apartment complex rumored to be haunted. She claimed she washed her face at the sink one night. She looked in the mirror and saw another face behind her. She said she remained calm. She told me she would share the space as long as I left her alone and did not try to scare her.

She sent me into the theater to get things for her while visiting her college. The building was locked after dark. She lent me her keys. The place had a reputation for being haunted. I am a skeptic. I took the keys and left without hesitation.I entered the theater. I went to the closet where she kept her things. Someone walked up behind me. I heard the footsteps. I felt the floorboards move and heard them creak. I even heard fabric rustle. I felt a sense that someone else was present. I turned around, expecting to explain why I was in a locked building after hours. No one was there. I started singing loudly to cover the silence. I grabbed my sister's things and ran out.

My sister apologized for days. I never entered that building alone again, day or night.

I was nineteen. I used to walk to Denny's from my house every evening, leaving around 8 or 9 p.m. I hung out with friends there. We smoked, drank coffee, and played cards until two or three in the morning. One evening, I left later, maybe around 11 p.m.

"I was 19. I used to walkI went to Denny's from my house every evening, leaving around 8 or 9 p.m. There, I hung out with friends, smoked, drank coffee, and played cards until 2 or 3 a.m. One evening, I left later, maybe around 11 p.m.

The Denny's sat 5.7 miles from my house, a walk. I walked along, like I had done many times. I reached a wooded area that always stayed dark. I heard music from a house off the road. Heavy bass drums had a steady beat. People out there always had big parties. I kept walking; the music did not stop.

I stopped and listened closely. The sound came like drums looping continuously. There were no other roads for miles from my spot, so a vehicle could not make it. I kept walking for two miles, hearing this music. It never got louder or quieter. I stopped and listened again. It sounded much like Native American drums.

I walked again, speeding up. As I walked, I heard the drums following me. I started smelling gunpowder. I walked a mile, listening to drums and smelling gunpowder.

I may have become really scared. I cannot say if I heard footsteps behind me or if it was my mind playing tricks. I heard them for a couple hundred feet only. Then I walked into a clearing in the woods, and it all vanished. The drums stopped. I did not smell gunpowder; I heard no footsteps except my own walking.

I reached the Denny's totally shaken, but I did not tell my story for several days.

"On the"nightMy mother died around 7 p.m. Her very old grandfather, nearly 99, was getting ready for bed in a nursing home 200 miles away. He stopped just before getting into bed and said he could not because 'Trish was in it.' He sat still in his chair. At ten past seven, he smiled and said, "She's gone now," then got into bed. An aunt saw this.

I wonder if people do not give any final message when they die. I was with my mother when she died, but she did not speak to me. Who knows?

"This is"the scariest thingthat has everhappenedto me. Most people I tell try to find a logical reason, but there is none.

After living in my new house for about five months, I decided to shower. A friend had just stayed over. I took many showers in that bathroom already, so it was not new. I took my shower, got out to dry, and looked at the steamed mirror.

On the mirror, perfect writing—no human could do it with their finger—read something like, 'Dear father, please forgive me.' I forgot the rest because I was so freaked out. It was terrifying. The bathroom door remained locked the whole time; no one could enter. It had never been there before. I have no idea what that was, but it scared me.

"My brother"JoelAn ATV accident killed Uncle Joe a little over four years ago. My daughter just turned three. She kept waking up during the night and entering my room. When I brought her back to bed and asked why she got up, she would say, "The guy in my room." She always pointed to the corner where her dresser sat and claimed there was a 'guy in her room.' She never met him. That is really weird.

"My first"apartmentCollege apartment haunted. A long hallway led from my room to the front door. At night, I often heard footsteps echo in the hall when my roommate was gone. My dog heard it too. He barked and looked into the hall, as if seeing someone. One night while studying, I saw a sign on my doorknob swing back and forth. No windows opened, the A/C was off; there was no reason for it to move. I said, "Stop!" and it stopped immediately. Months later, the landlord told me a tenant had hung himself in the basement a few years before. Maybe it was him.

We moved to our new house in 1970 when I was five.We have had weirdness for 40 years. Sudden temperature drops and cold spots moved. I often had to move my bed monthly. These drops were so extreme I recall my breath condensing in June. One evening, we found the attic hatch ajar—it never opens normally—with muddy paw prints all around it on the ceiling. We had no dog.The weirdness started right away. The first night, my dad's watch, a typical 1970's stainless steel brick, found on his bedside table that morning was completely taken apart, like someone used a sledgehammer on it. Even the main spring was stretched out. All 18 inches from my dad's head.

Over forty years, we experienced strange things. Sudden temperature drops and cold spots occurred; these spots moved. I often had to move my bed every month because the cold was so extreme I remembered my breath freezing in June. One evening, we found the attic hatch ajar—it never opened that way—with muddy paw prints all around it and on the ceiling. We did not have a dog.

We have an antique clock that apparently hadn't worked since before I was born and served as an ornament. The clock hands changed time without us looking. It would read 6:45; you looked away, then back, and it showed 3:30.

I remember a perfect circle of thunderflies on the ceiling above my bed which vanished. We constantly heard people or furniture moving in rooms we knew were empty.

I moved there at five; I was the oldest of three kids. Though none of us slept with the lights off, I never felt scared. Looking back, we talked about the ghost like an annoying, odd relative. After extensive work on the house in the early eighties, the ghost calmed down, and the weirdness lessened.

The last time the presence felt was about five years ago. My dad was gone; my brother visited to check things were okay. He always went through the house, turning lights on before entering a room and turning them off as he left. He returned to the front door, about to leave, switched the light off (it was dark outside), and as the hallway darkened, someone let out a breathy gasp right next to his ear. After he calmed down (and stopped speeding up), he had to go back and close the front door.

I am an atheist. I see ghosts often. I reject the undead, restless spirits, and new age hoodoo. I do not know what caused the weirdness in my house. I met a woman randomly around age 20 (I am 46 now). She lived in the same house in the sixties and recalled it as a warm, friendly place with no weirdness.

"When I was about 12 years old I had adreamShortly before Halloween, I dreamed I was trick-or-treating on Halloween night. I ran through an overgrown woodsy area in my neighborhood, fleeing a house a couple of blocks away. I saw a woman flying toward me, realizing I was running from her ghost. I woke up in a cold sweat. That December, I learned the house I ran from belonged to an older woman who lived alone without family nearby. A friend of my mother's delivered Christmas cookies and found her dead in the house. They estimated she had been there since about August. I do not believe in ghosts, but it felt very strange.

"I am an atheist who does believe in ghosts - I believe insoulsSouls need to find rest, either by a final goodbye or by staying until they find peace. I lack crazy stories. However, while I was with my ex on a few-day vacation, a strange thought hit me while driving home. I asked him the last time he saw his grandfather and suggested he should visit him soon. I had never met his grandfather; we never really spoke about him.

About five minutes later, he got a call from his mom saying his grandfather had died. My idea is his grandfather's spirit tried to say goodbye. Because I am more open to that, he communicated better with me.

"I petsitI consistently stay at a haunted house. I believe in ghosts, spirits, entities, whatever. I watch scary movies about that sort of thing constantly, but I have never experienced it.

During my first pet-sitting visit, I noticed strange things. On the second night, I slept upstairs with both animals. I heard plates moving downstairs in the kitchen. This happened for ten minutes, then stopped. I never felt brave enough to check. Other times, the floor vent moved across the room. Garage motion sensor lights flashed on and off while I was gone. Things would tip over or move out of place. They also had three chiming grandfather clocks. That was the worst.

I still pet-sit there. I sleep on the couch with the TV on every night. It pays good money.

Before I moved to my current house, I shared abathroomI shared a bathroom with my sister when I was a kid or in my pre-teen years. Sometimes, I heard the toilet flush and thought, 'It's just my sister taking care of her business; I don't really care.' One day, only we were home. I did homework in her room, and we heard the toilet flush.by itself. We both wondered what happened and checked; the toilet water went down by itself. We thought it was broken, so we told our dad, and he fixed it. Then, a strange flush happened in the early morning (around 1 AM). The bathroom light was off, so it wasn't my sister using the bathroom. Then, I looked into the bathroom and saw nothing. I turned to check the clock in my room quickly, checked the bathroom again, and found a piece of toilet paper on the floor. The toilet flushed again. I didn't think much of it until it flushed by itself again while I finished using it. My younger self was scared and refused to use that bathroom again until we moved.
