Sitcoms often have plot holes due to less emphasis on continuity. Certain inconsistencies can alter your perception of a series. Established character traits may clash with later events, which can be annoying. Similarly, jokes can fall flat when events don't align. Here are the most notable plot holes in popular sitcoms that fans have noticed.

From Redditorbegfhn:
Danny was a full-time college student in a fraternity while also being married and raising a baby. Even if Pamela stayed home full-time, neither had time for a job. How do they have so much money? Danny's parents might be rich, but they likely would not pay his tuition, buy him a big house, or cover his child support.
Danny mentions meeting girls at frat parties. In the season 2 finale, Danny claimed he bought the house before DJ was born. He was only 19! Who explains how they got the house? More financial questions remain unexplained. Danny apparently bought a car on his 20th birthday and lent Joey a lot of money at 19, never planning to get it back. Danny seems to ignore money, even though he is young and early in his career. He only teaches his daughters responsibility when they don't get what they want, which happens rarely. The house gets destroyed in several episodes, but everyone treats it like nothing.

In an earlier episode ofBig Bang Theory, Sheldon speaks Hindi. Raj asks him what it means since "he’s never learnt Hindi."
Later, Howard, Raj, and Anu watch cricket. Raj translates Anu's Hindi to English.
It is a plot hole.

Why does Elliot teach Interns in season 8?
She works in private practice, not as hospital staff.

This is either a plot hole or they drank youth fountain water from those glasses...

Eric turned eighteen in Season 6. There were about two Halloween episodes and three Christmas episodes between age seventeen and eighteen. Also, from 1976 to 1979, there were five Christmas episodes.

From RedditorJHallComics:
In the episode where the building Jerry, Kramer, and Newman live in reduces water pressure, Kramer disgustedly says he took a bath, which is just wading in his own filth.
However, in the episode where George pees in the gym shower, Kramer confidently says he takes baths instead of showers.

I loveGrace & Frankie, and have found some funny story line mistakes. Season 4, episode 6, Robert buys Sol two tickets for the "Both Tides Now" folk rock cruise. Sol gets excited about the cruise. Sol goes alone and has a great time.
Later seasons, Sol fears cruising with Robert for a delayed honeymoon. Sol admits this fear stems from his inability to swim. Sol then takes swimming lessons with kids.

Kelso and Jackie break up in "That '70s Show" during the scene where Kelso wants "Smaller Paddles" with the Pong Game. Jackie tells Mrs. Forman, "is it because Michael doesn’t love me anymore." Yet, they were together in the previous episode and together in the next. What am I missing? S:1 E:22 "Punk Chick"

Season 1 episode 7, "The Dumpling Paradox": Raj talks while Penny is in the room, not drunk.
I watched the episodes again and found this scene around 3:25 in the episode. Raj talks, Penny is in the room, and Raj is not drunk.

I realized this: In season 3, episode 4, Elaine says she has only lived in New York since 1986. Later in that same episode, Elaine and George mock Jerry's vomiting. However, in season 5, episode 14 (aired 1993), Jerry tells Elaine he has not vomited since 1980.
How can this happen?
13 - 12

From RedditorChruxl:
Marshall had an "insane" food rule in "Arrividerci Fiero." He and Ted could have starved on a cross-country trip because of it. He seemed set on it. Yet, in "Duel Citizenship," during a flashback of the Gazola's trips, they eat beef jerky and drink Tantrum (TANTRUM!).

From Redditoru/misterconfus:
Inconsistency with Pam onThe Officewith volleyball.
S04, E13: Pam says, "So many memories in this old gym. Pretending I have PMS so I didn't have to play volleyball. Pretending to have PMS so I didn't have to play basketball. Those were the days." This suggests Pam dislikes playing sports and prefers faking PMS over playing them.
Later in S05, E28 at the company picnic, Pam plays very well in volleyball and says, "Maybe I played a little in junior high. And in high school. Maybe a little in college. And went to volleyball camp most summers."
