    Chewie's Bowcaster Fires Real Projectiles

When you watch a Star Wars film, assume weapons only use energy. Wrong. They shoot solid projectiles wrapped in energy. Chewbacca's bowcaster is a perfect example. It fires a metal quarrel.Star WarsStar Wars film, assume all weapons fire energy without physical shots. Actually, they fire solid projectiles wrapped in energy. Chewbacca's bowcasterbowcasterbowcaster is a perfect example. Chewie's bowcaster fires a metalquarrelquarrel enveloped in energy. It holds six to 35 rounds.

The weapon emits a beam from near the stock components. Twin polarizers magnetically speed the energized quarrel toward the target. It explodes on contact. The weapon looks like a laser beam, but the large energy around the quarrel causes that. The projectile and its energy make the bowcaster one of the most powerful firearms in theStar Warsuniverse.

Mandalorians Use Flamethrowers Because Of Jedi

Jango Fett showed off hisMandalorians use flamethrowers because of Jediflamethrower in the prequels. Din Djarin used one many years later. Bounty hunters use flamethrowers because a lightsaber cannot deflect fire. Mandalorians integrated flamethrowers into their vambraces to fight the Jedi.

Shooting fire at a Jedi usually forces them to retreat, not defeat them. This gives the Mandalorian tactical options for fighting or pulling back. Some Jedi use the Force to block the flames, but not all Jedi have that skill. Mandalorians are not the only users in the franchise. Clone Troopers, Elite Squad Troopers, and the First Order have used them.

A Thermal Detonator Isn't Simply A Shiny Grenade

Thermal detonators aren't just shiny grenadesThermal detonators exist in the galaxy for thousands of years. They look like shiny grenades, but they are much more dangerous than that. There are grenades in theStar Warsgalaxy, but they differ. A thermal detonator is grenade-sized and looks like one. It is unstable and uses a nuclear fusion explosive for its blast.

Most governments banned thermal detonators, but they remain common. A thermal detonator explodes, sending out an expanding particle field that turns any material inside a six-meter radius into atoms. Some thermal detonators explode up to 100 meters wide, making them very destructive. When the blast radius ends, the field shrinks, leaving anything outside its effect totally fine.

A Lightsaber Can't Cut Through Anything - Some Materials Are Resistant

If you know The Mandalorian, you know a lightsaber cannot cut Beskar. That is not the only material resistant in theMandalorian, you already know a lightsaber cannot cut Beskar, but that is not the only material resistant to it in theStar WarsBeskar remains important. It exists only on Mandalore and its moon Concordia, making it rare. The Elite Praetorian Guard's armor resists lightsaber strikes. The gauntlets deflect a blade, but the armor cannot stop a direct thrust or stab.

Cortosis armor redirects lightsaber energy back onto itself. This causes the lightsaber to temporarily shut off upon contact. Equipping a personal energy shield stops lightsabers from ending your day. These items are rare because they need Kohlen crystals to power them.Kohlen crystals.

Rare armor blocks lightsabers. Some natural creatures are immune to the blade. The Zillo Beast'shide can deflect a lightsaber strike. These beasts are extinct. Armor made from their hide is as rare as any synthetic armor mentioned before.

The Darksaber Was Created By The First Mandalorian Inducted Into The Jedi Order

Over thousands of years of galactic history, many lightsabers were built. TheThe Darksaber was made by the first Mandalorian inducted into the Jedi Order. The Darksaber is unique. Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian inducted into the Jedi Order, supposedly crafted it thousands of years before the Republic. After his death, the Jedi kept the Darksaber in their temple. Members of the House of Vizsla found and stole it.

The Darksaber became a symbol of great power. It unified the people of Mandalore; whoever ruled carried the blade. Clans respected the Darksaber and submitted to the ruler. The Empire took the blade when it destroyed Mandalore. A Mandalorian later took it, but not one who wanted to rule.

The Death Star's Superweapon Could Do More Than Blow Up A Planet

The Death Star's main weapon used a combination ofThe Death Star's superweapon could do more than just blow up a planet. These superlasers formed one beam of concentrated energy. Eight powerful lasers merged into one weapon capable of destroying a planet at full power. The weapon remained dangerous because it did not always fire at full power.

Firing at less than 10% power can destroy a capital ship. The incomplete second Death Star blasted a capital ship during a raid, destroying it. At 30% power, the weapon can crack a planet's core with two shots. Full power destroys the planet. The Death Star had a greater range than movies show, shooting targets up to 2,000,000 kilometers away.

The Death Star needed massive energy. This meant it could not fire shots as fast as a single superlaser ship. A 10% blast fired every three minutes. A full-power shot, however, only fired once daily. The second Death Star design fixed this; it fires a full-strength blast every five hours.

Mando's Favorite Rifle Is The Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster

Since Boba Fett first appeared inthe Star Wars Holiday SpecialThe armor and weapon Boba Fett used connect him to the Mandalorians. Din Djarin carries a weapon like Boba Fett's. It is easily one of his and Fett's favorites.the Amban phase-pulse blasterThe Amban sniper rifle is a special disruptor rifle. It has multiple functions.

This rifle can hit an enemy. It can electrocute them if you choose. Or, it can completely disintegrate the target. Djarin used the electrocution function inside the Krayt dragon. This forced the dragon to open its mouth so he could get out. Before that, the bounty hunter used the disintegration function to eliminate several hunters chasing him. One blast from this weapon turns a humanoid into dust and gas.

Lightsabers Went Through Several Phases Of Development

Lightsabers are the weapons most linked to theStar WarsThe Star Wars franchise uses lightsabers, but they did not always look like they do in the movies. Lightsabers needed several development stages before they became the recognizable tools today. Early lightsabers appeared thousands of years before the Republic developed. The earliest design was called aproto-saber.

The proto-saber was often called a "laser sword." It was a prototype. Instead of a plasma blade, the proto-saber had two prongs on the crossguard. Activating it made energy surge up the prongs, forming a blade between them.

A cable connected the proto-saber to a small pack. This pack supplied the weapon's energy. This made it much bulkier than later models. Over time, thelightsaberdeveloped into a more refined weapon. It gained many style and appearance variations.

One Of The Most Powerful Weapons In The Galaxy Never Appeared In The Films

While theStar Wars movies have shown planet and solar system-destroying weapons, the most destructive one ever imagined never appeared. TheSun CrusherThis craft was small, like a starfighter. It unleashed destruction that made the Death Star look like a toy. Its hull was indestructible, made of layeredquantum-crystalline armor.

The Sun Crusher destroyed entire solar systems, not just planets. Starkiller Base did that too, but the Sun Crusher did it much harder. It targeted a star, making it go supernova. That explosion destroyed the solar system and more. This weapon is inLegendsThis territory was part of the franchise for a long time. Han Solo interacted with it and helped push it into a black hole.

Lightsaber Colors Hold Special Meanings For The Jedi Who Wield Them

Before the prequels, the movies only showed blue, red, and green lightsaber colors.Return of the JediColor options expanded greatly. Each color holds a specific meaning for the wielders. Sith and dark Force adepts use red because they "bleed" the Kyber crystal to make it work. This means hatred and anger drive the red color.meaninghatred and anger.

Jedi Consulars use green lightsabers, preferring peace through force when needed. Jedi Guardians use blue sabers; they are some of the most skilled duelists. Purple came later as a nod to Samuel L. Jackson's favorite color. It shows moral ambiguity and Jedi using both light and dark techniques.

expandedStar WarsIn the expanded Star Wars universe, Jedi Sentinels use yellow sabers. Some top fighters use gold sabers; these are rare and show strength. Orange sabers suit powerful Jedi whose physical strength wins out. White sabers show focus on the living Force. Black sabers, the Dark Saber, show self-obsession and suit those ruled by their obsessions.

The Death Star(s) Used The Same Energy Source As Lightsabers

The movies avoid showing the power source for the Death Star's weapon. Many wonder what powered it. Luckily, the Star Wars: Rebels series explained the power source.Star Wars: RebelsThe series explained the weapon's power source. It was the same energy that powered every Jedi's lightsaber: Kyber crystals.Kyber crystals.

The weapon needed a crystal much bigger than lightsaber crystals. The Death Star's crystal was huge (pictured). The Empire gathered these through its network and used them to build the galaxy's deadliest weapon then. Kyber crystals are rare, Force-attuned objects. They channel much energy, making them perfect for such a weapon.

There Are Many Different Types Of Lightsabers

Movies showed several lightsaber types over time. Anakin Skywalker first used a blue saber, which Luke received. This was the standard Jedi design. Darth Vader used a red lightsaber. Its hilt looked like Luke's and Obi-Wan Kenobi's. Luke wielded a green lightsaber in the original trilogy. It was the same type otherwise.

The prequels arrived, and everyone lost their minds when Darth Maul ignited both sides of his double-bladed lightsaber! That was just the start. Over years, many different versions appeared.different versionsVarious lightsaber types exist. These include the Sith lightsaber, double-bladed saber, and standard-hilt lightsaber. Other types include hinged double-bladed sabers, split sabers, lightsaber pikes, duel phase lightsabers, crossguard sabers, broadsabers, great lightsabers, crossguard lightsabers, the Darksaber, lightwhips, lightsaber pistols, and many others.

Starkiller Base Fired Its Weapon Using Hyperspace Tunneling

If you watchedStar Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.and wondered howStarkiller Basefired its projectile across the galaxy and hit its target faster than light. The movie did not explain the weapon's function. Lore details how it used old Imperial research on dark energy and hyperspace tunneling to fire the weapon.

Starkiller Base evolved from the Death Star and other Imperial tech, designed to crush the galaxy with fear. Technologically, it used hyperspace tunneling to fire energy across space quickly. It used a dark energy called "quintessence," giving the First Order near-unlimited power.

The planet Ilum, which housed Starkiller Base, has much history with the Empire. It sat in the Outer Regions. Ilum was the mining spot for Kyber crystals powering the superlaser weapons for both Death Stars. Intense mining created a huge trench across the planet. This trench shaped Starkiller Base's design later.

The Galaxy Gun Was Another Superweapon Of The Emperor

In theDark Empirecomics, which are now part ofLegends, the emperor reappears in a cloned body and resumes his work. He oversees building a new superweapon called theGalaxy Gun. The weapon measured 7,250 meters long. It was a space station built above planet Byss. It fired projectiles with particle disintegrator warheads that could destroy an entire planet.

Projectiles fired through hyperspace allowed shooting across the galaxy without detection. A warhead strike covered targets in nuclear reactions, converting all matter to energy in seconds. Like the Death Star, this weapon fired at lower power levels, letting users strike cities or military targets without destroying a planet.
