Wear your most comfortable outfit. Watch all the movies. Pack a toothbrush, paste, and wet wipes. I pack all your favorite snacks. I do not care about flight calories. Salty nuts, chocolate, gummies—I pack it! Delays happen. Airline food varies. I always make a snack party at 30,000 feet!

Use a portable battery for your devices. Download movies for offline viewing. Download podcasts too. If you must put something under the seat, move it behind your knees right after takeoff. This lets you stretch your legs.

Bring snacks and books. Get a TV in the back of every seat to watch movies or play games. Walk around sometimes to stretch your legs.

A friend told me to bring a blanket. Wrap it around your waist to fart it up the whole flight. Hopefully, it will muffle the sound. I have not tried it, but high altitude makes my stomach hurt.

Sleep on the plane if you can. If not, download movies to watch. Get up to use the bathroom often to stop leg cramps.

    Earbuds, horseshoe pillow, and music!

Take off, sleep, land. This is amazing.

Fly business class. Open eight credit cards for points to upgrade if needed. This trip feels nice. You might get lounge access. Some lounges have showers that feel great after a long flight.

Use a neck pillow and good entertainment. I prefer an aisle seat. This lets me walk around, visit the bathroom, or get a drink without worrying about others sleeping. If I wake up naturally near my wake-up time, I stay awake instead of napping. This avoids being woken up by bright lights or someone offering me a full breakfast at 3 am.

On long trips, add a couple of hours layover. This gives you a break from the plane. I am ready to leave after seven to eight hours.

Compression socks help with foot swelling. Take them off during a layover. Sit somewhere in the airport to prop your feet up.

Pick the aisle seat. Choose a plane with TVs on the back of every headrest.

Fly overnight to beat jet lag. For example, I fly ten hours from home to London. I pick a flight leaving at eight or nine pm. I board, eat food, take Benadryl, and sleep for six hours. I land in the UK at six am. By the time I clear customs and take an Uber, it is eight am.

Drop everything at the flat. Shower. Go find food and sightsee. Return to the flat around 4 pm. Eat dinner. Watch a movie. Go to bed early. Wake up at 7 am the next day; your body adjusts.

Use an empty 1L water bottle and refill it constantly. Sip water often. Filtered air dries you out. This makes you stand up regularly, boosting circulation from bathroom trips.

Drink lots of water the day before your flight. Drink plenty the day of. Staying hydrated fights jet lag and circulation problems. It also makes you get up from your seat and moves blood.

Enter the plane last. If you see an empty row before doors close, sit there. When I ask to move, the answer is "you'd have to pay." Now I just move. This works most of the time.

    From Redditor u/Moosu:

These items helped a lot during airport days and flights over 15 hours recently:
Use foam disposable earplugs. I buy a 10-pack and swap them for every flight.
Put headphones over the earplugs. They cut noise strain. Try new music. You will feel nostalgia later. I found electronic Gregorian chant music on a 23-hour layover in New Zealand. Now I think of Hobbiton hearing Enigma or ERA.
