    From Reddit usertsbae:

A few years ago, I met Guy A. He was amazing. He was kind and sweet. We kissed a few times. We hooked up once. He started seeing another girl. That's how it ended. I felt heartbroken.

A year and a half into this awful relationship, I met Sh*thead. Sh*thead lies constantly, yells, and threatens to break up whenever I do something he dislikes, like during a panic attack.

I was at a concert without Sh*thead. I saw Guy A across the dance floor, dancing and laughing. I hadn't seen him since we hooked up years ago. My heart jumped. I went over, we talked for hours, and I told him I lived with a bad guy and wanted out. When he kissed me goodbye, I knew.

I stayed with Sh*thead for about a week, still seeing the other guy. Then, I found the courage to break up with him.

I have been with Guy A ever since. I have not looked back.

    From Reddit userZarbi92 255:

He accused me of cheating constantly, beat me for it, and never believed me. For about a year, he accused me, beat me until he was satisfied, then claimed forgiveness for a week. After a year, I connected with a friend of his sister and her husband. We did not sleep, kiss, or touch. We did not discuss anything physical. But he took me on dates. Since I was being punished and he wouldn't believe me, I thought I might as well do it. He also told me I was being abused and that good men exist. I still feel terrible about it. Knowing what I did was wrong, but those dates felt amazing and gave me the confidence to leave my ex.

He was cheating the entire time.

    From Reddit useroptimaloutcome:

I was 19. I had been with a girl for a year. My parents told me to pay rent, so I found a roommate and got an apartment. Day one, I went to the office for paperwork. The girl in the office made my heart skip. She made me believe in love at first sight.

She moved in across from my apartment a few weeks later, and we started hanging out. One night, we slept together. The next day, I broke up with my girlfriend. The new girl and I talked, and we both wanted to be together.

She moved in a month later. That was 17 years ago. She sleeps upstairs next to our daughter now.

    From Reddit userPeanutPhotography:

I was the mistress in a marriage. The man was an old high school boyfriend; we dated sometimes. When we stopped, he dated Kelly. Then, he married her. Nearly a year after we split, I returned to town for summer break from college and ran into him at my summer job.

He told me a sad story about Kelly wanting a divorce and taking his child. I believed him, we swapped numbers, and talked every day. He invited me to his apartment, showed me his divorce papers, and we became sexual for a couple of weeks.

I stopped by to get earrings I forgot the day before. His high school best friend answered the door. I asked if the guy was there; the best friend said no, why would he? Guy was actually house-sitting for the friend; it was not his apartment. The best friend also told me Guy and Kelly were buying a house; their marriage was fine.

I felt angry and sick. The next day, Kelly walked into work. I asked her what she was doing later and if she could talk. We met after I finished work, and I told her everything. She cried a little but was still angry. She gave me their address and told me to show up there without warning the next day.

I went, and Guy looked pale trying to make me leave. Kelly showed up, and they had a huge fight. Guy ended up getting divorced and received child support because Kelly told the right people about Guy's marijuana plants. We do not talk now. I have to shower at least twice when I think about it.

    Reddit uservipros42:

I lived with my girlfriend in university. Near the end of my degree, I took a field trip abroad with a good friend, and I felt we might want more than just friendship. I got home and told my girlfriend I was unsure and needed space. We had finals to finish, so I did not break up with her immediately. Meanwhile, the other girl and I grew closer, and some things happened.

After exams ended, I broke up with my girlfriend, adamantly denying another person existed. Twelve years later, the other girl and I are married for five years; my ex is married to a woman.

    Reddit userAvocadoavenger:

I had an affair with a coworker much older than me. We both had unhappy relationships: he with a woman whose spending habits led to multiple mortgages, and I with a man developing a serious drug habit. People caught on after about a year. Coworkers noticed; he later faced layoffs. I got caught first, and my boyfriend moved out. Soon after, he filed for divorce from his wife and moved in with me. That divorce was vicious, lasting years. We married ten years ago and remain happy. His ex is doing well too.

    From Reddit user littlelighteninggirl:

My ex-husband and I never slept in the same room when I started my affair. Ex lacked interest in sex, causing many fights because I felt unsatisfied.

I found my affair on WoW. We knew each other for a year; we never flirted. Then I found out he had Settlers of Catan and mozzarella sticks... He lived an hour and a half away. I drove down, and we connected well.

He did not know I was married then. I really needed sex; it had been about six months.

The affair continued. Or it ended when my divorce finalized. He and I married now and have been together six years.

    From Reddit user The_Two_Trees:

I was in a bad marriage. I married too young and against my judgment. My husband was controlling and sexually repressed, and neither of us respected the other.

I found my husband on dating sites, talking to women to ask for dates. He actively sought cheating, but no women showed interest, stopping him from acting on it physically.
We worked on our marriage to fix his online cheating, but he always started again. Eventually, I felt so drained by it I stopped caring much.

I met a man at work. I felt an instant attraction, both mental and physical—something I never had with my husband. We started with simple talks and became work friends. We made excuses to text outside of work. We grabbed lunch sometimes, first in groups, then just the two of us. I looked forward to work daily to see him. I thought about him constantly. I knew I was heading toward trouble but I would not stop.

I started flirting. I began sneaking away from home to meet him for hikes, dinner, anything. I met him for hours on evenings and weekends. My husband never noticed because he focused on his friends or his online chats with women.

My friend from work and I avoided physical contact. Then, in his car, he leaned over to help me with my jammed seat belt and he kissed me. That felt like the best thing ever.

After a few weeks of dinner meetings, we moved to secluded spots to make out in his car. Then, it became groping, hand jobs, oral sex. I could not get enough of this guy.

I felt huge guilt the whole time. I never thought I would cheat. I told my husband before the affair got deeper. I ended the affair and agreed to marriage counseling.

    From Reddit useraltacctforperversion:

"When I was deployed to Iraq, my wife cheated on me at least three times. She told me. It hurt badly, but we worked through it most of the time."

Years later, stationed overseas alone, I started an affair with a female service member. It lasted six months. I said I did it to get even. Now, I feel terrible. It is over, and I will never tell her what happened.

    From Reddit userCrossbowsaint:

"We started with drinks after work. It ended when I fell in love and he did not."

My relationship ended when I met him. We became good friends and shared how messed up our current relationships were. The night it went too far was after drinks, a kiss in a bar, and a DUI. I bailed him out. After we slept together a few times, I ended things with my boyfriend. He always said he would break up with his girlfriend and never did.

He told me for months he wanted to be with me and loved me. He did nothing about his current situation for months. When he finally broke up with her, he stayed with me for a few weeks, and things were great. Then, in a company meeting with coworkers, he texted me saying he was getting back together with her.

A year and a half later, I am married to someone else, and they are still together.

    From Reddit user_chunkysalsa:

I started tutoring math in high school while I had a serious girlfriend. I lived a double life; everything I did with my math tutor, I did with my girlfriend later on. The math tutor situation got bad. I went on vacation with her and told my girlfriend I was seeing family. After graduation, I cut ties with both. After they found out about each other, I used some witchcraft to stay friends with both.

    Reddit userCaptainLeviA:

I have no excuses for cheating on my girlfriend. I was eighteen; I had been with her for three months. I grew close to one of her friends. I felt happier with her friend and wanted more time with her than my girlfriend. I cheated because I did not want to end their long friendship. I did not want to be the reason their friendship ended. I also did not want her to look like someone who just moved in on her friend's boyfriend. The situation seemed tricky for us both, but we were young and did not know how to handle it.

    Reddit userRedBombX:

I was in a five-year relationship then. I started talking to an old coworker from my teens I always liked. She lived a couple states away, so I thought nothing would happen. Turns out, she still had family nearby and visited regularly.

We planned dinner to catch up. We got drunk, rented a hotel room, and had fun. This happened several times over months until I got a text from her. It showed a picture of a sonogram of our child.

I planned to tell my girlfriend because I never had a father. I did not want to put my child through that. However, she lost it a month or so into the pregnancy, and we stopped talking.

It left me feeling very guilty and anxious. I would not do it again. Zero out of ten.
