    Losing The Donkeys

    From a Facebook commenterCathie Prindle:

Cathie Prindle took donkeys up in the mountains above Wallowa Lake. They carried the kids and camping gear. After the hike and finding the campsite, the donkeys ran down the mountain path. I cut them off by running through the brush and getting ahead of them. The kids stayed with their dad at the camp site. The kids were small, and I felt better with their daddy there; he was better equipped and stronger than I if anything happened. After that trip, we got hobbles for the donkeys!

    First-Timers Can Be Really Annoying

    From a Facebook commenterChris Chadwick:

We took our lab, which had never camped, for the whole drive. He whined the entire time we set up, all night long. During breakfast the next morning, while he still made noise, we packed up and left. He cried the entire drive home too. Once home, we would not let him sleep; he kept us up, and he had to stay up too.

    A Fort Made With Poison

    From a Facebook commenterAndrew Tyler:

As a kid, I built a cool little fort in some brush while camping with my parents. The long story is this: it was a poison ivy bush. I got poison ivy so bad, it covered my n*ts and they swelled five times their size... I was eleven.

From a Facebook commenterEarlene Summeralls Kilburn:

When I was young, we camped in the Everglades. As we prepared to go home, our buggy wouldn't start. My dad and I had to walk out; that was the longest walk I ever took. We borrowed a battery from another man's buggy and walked back carrying the battery. I was never happier to get home.
