When Your Plane Has No AC

    Facebook commenterBailey Calton Deramus:

American airlines put us on a plane with no AC from desert California to Dallas in the summer. My 5-month-old nearly passed out from the heat. Older people on the plane also did not do well.

When You Run Out Of Gas

    Facebook commenterCourtney Lynn:

I ran out of gas on I-35 during Mother's Day. I called AAA. I sat on the side of the road for three hours until a truck arrived from five minutes away. The driver said he came as soon as he got the order and showed us his messages. He regretted that AAA did not send the order to him sooner. My advice: save money on AAA and call a tow service yourself.

When You Get Stuck At The Airport

    Facebook commenterClaire Morton-Brown:

I got stuck at Philadelphia airport for two days and nights without luggage because American Airlines kept canceling our flight. We rented a car. When I put my destination in my phone, it showed I was 666 miles from home! That is about right! It was a nightmare!

    Facebook commenterLouise Magrath:

    That is horrible.

When You Except Cold Weather But...

    Facebook commenterThe Hearth:

Arriving in England, I thought I would enjoy the cooler weather. Instead, I hit headlines reading, “Record-setting heatwave strikes London.”

    Facebook commenterJulie Markle:

My flight stopped. It landed in a different city because of an air pressure leak. I carried luggage and walked about a quarter mile across runways with three kids in the rain. Steep steps led out of the leaky old lane and into a new plane. England hit its all-time record heat wave. Uber drivers had AC but did not use it. Windows cracked a couple of inches. The Big Ferris wheel shut down because of the heat. The hotel had no washcloths. The maid did not know what one was. I used a blouse in the shower. Still, I loved London!

    When They Lose Your Luggage

    From Facebook commenter Audrey Laura:

This happened in Italy. The airline lost my luggage for nine days. I got it back last night in Rome at midnight. I made the best of it and still had fun!

I got all the way back to the states on my last flight, which should have taken an hour. There was so much turbulence that people cried, vomited, and prayed. There was no beverage service either!

    Boarding The Wrong Plane

From Facebook commenter Nancy Pogge Kirkpatrick:

I boarded the wrong plane in Vancouver, Washington. I waited to board a small aircraft going to Victoria, Canada. There were many small planes on the tarmac at that small airport. I thought I got on the right plane. Only after someone tried to sit in "my" seat did they show me I was going the wrong way. I panicked, not knowing if I missed my plane while trying to get off with everyone else boarding, and I felt heart palpitations. I needed oxygen by the time I found my plane! Later, my luggage was lost. They found it a couple of days later.

From Facebook commenter Mary Jo Koehler:

Once, I caught a train one day early. You get on, and the train starts moving, so you cannot get off unless you call someone at the next station to come get you. They let me stay on. The train was not as crowded then as it is now. I felt embarrassed then, so I get how you feel.

    Taken Camera

    From Facebook commenter Dixon Hayes:

My dad's expensive camera was stolen in Washington, D.C.

From Facebook commenter Mary Jo Koehler:

That reminds me of traveling by train into Kansas City. I hung out at the depot or bus terminal trying to connect to Omaha. A local man was hanging around, and we had a good talk. I took pictures of him. It was fun. He asked me to send him the photos for free delivery (he was homeless), so I planned to do that. But I found out when I got home that I had no film in the camera! I feel bad for the guy if he waited for those photos... I don't know why I didn't write him a letter explaining what happened. Maybe I did not plan to send the photos or lost his name. But having a camera taken is much worse.
