Magneto Should Have Been Holding Wolverine Down In 'Days Of Future Past'

    Redditoru/stormaggedon23:

Wolverine thrashs and stabs Kitty while in his "back to the future trance." Magneto just sits there and says, "Secure Him!" Why didn't Magneto hold him down? We have seen Magneto control Wolverine's whole body many times. This is a plot hole.

Bobby Drake's Parents Shouldn't Have Been Surprised In 'X2'

    Redditoru/Readonly00:

InX-Men 2, Bobby's parents are surprised to see Logan despite the strange car outside. When the Drakes arrive home, they act normal until they see Wolverine and get a start. Later, they see they parked their van behind Cyclops' car, which Logan and others borrowed and parked there. Wouldn't they suspect something seeing a strange car in their driveway or ask, "Bobby, are you home?"

The Sentinels Should Not Have Been Able To Kill Blink In 'Days Of Future Past'

    Redditoru/saxman481:

In the first fight against the Sentinels, Blink throws a portal in front of one about to stab another mutant. The Sentinel turns, stabs back through the portal, killing Blink. But she was on the other side of the portal; the Sentinel should not have stabbed her. The portal sides make it hard to explain, but if you saw the movie, you should know.

Logan Shouldn't Remember Yashida In 'The Wolverine'

    Redditoru/rjmc27:

The WolverineThe film starts with Logan imprisoned in a Japanese war camp in Nagasaki. He saves Yashida by covering him with metal (enough to survive a nuclear explosion) while the atomic bomb detonates. This explains why Yashida invites Logan to Japan so he can thank him for saving his life. This means Logan saved Yashida in 1945.

InX-Men Origins: Wolverine, the film ends with Logan shot in the head, making him unconscious. When he wakes up, he has lost his memory and cannot recall his life before waking. His amnesia appears inshot in the head, rendering him unconscious. When he regains consciousness, he lost his memory and has no recollection of his life before waking. His amnesia appears inX-Men, X2, andX-Men: The Last Stand. Wikipedia states Logan lost his memory in 1981.

Going back toThe Wolverine, Logan goes to Japan to say goodbye to Yashida, the man he saved during the atomic bomb blast in Nagasaki. But how does Logan remember someone he met 36 years before losing his memory?

Wolverine Didn't Have To Kill Jean In 'The Last Stand'

Redditoru/jaromadairWolverine didn't have to kill Jean in 'The Last Stand'.

At the end ofX-Men: The Last StandWolverine struggles up to the platform the Phoenix stands on and stabs her to death to stop her from destroying everything with her out-of-control powers. Why didn't he just stick her with a couple of mutant-curing darts instead?

If his pants survive the trip to Jean Grey, a couple darts inside his hand certainly could.

Charles And Hank Should Have Distributed The Temporary Serum In The Prime Timeline

    Redditoru/drafterman:

InDays of Future PastHank develops a Mutation suppressing Serum. He uses it to control his own mutation and restore Charles' legs, which suppresses his mutation too.

This exists in the "prime" timeline, before Wolverine's actions change things. Where is it by X-Men 1, 2, or 3? It isn't "permanent" like the serum inX-Men 3and seems useful for dangerous, uncontrollable mutations (Cyclops, Rogue). This is not small. The plot ofX-Men 1Rogue's powers help facilitate X-Men 1. She uses them against Wolverine to save herself after being stabbed, then Mystique-as-Bobby tricks her into running. If her powers were suppressed, that event avoids happening (she likely dies from the wounds).

A ready temporary serum removes the need for a permanent serum. This stops the reason for mutant attacks inX-Men 3However, this does not show Charles well. He has access to this useful drug, letting mutants like Cyclops and Rogue suffer.

'Dark Phoenix' Makes Jean's Fate In 'Days Of Future Past' Untrue

    Redditoru/pigster46:

We know that inDays of Future PastWolverine's 2023 consciousness travels to his 1973 body via Kitty Pryde. This stops a future war between humans/Sentinels and mutants, started by Mystique killing Trask in 1973, creating a new timeline known only to him and Professor X. After drowning in 1973, he wakes up in his 2023 body in the new timeline.

To my understanding,ApocalypseandDark Phoenixoccur in that second timeline. I know this because inApocalypsePeter watches the 10-year anniversary footage of Magneto and the mutants saving the president, ending the Sentinel program.

After unleashing her full power inApocalypseProfessor X instructs Jean Grey to deal with the consequences and side effects inDark Phoenixeffects are amplified when she absorbsthe Phoenix Forceshe appears in the sky, possibly orbiting Earth as a final shot.

Having established this, my question is: How does Wolverine see Jean Grey alive and human in 2023 in that timeline if she evolved beyond humanity during the '90s whenDark Phoenixis set?

Young Mystique Should Have Been Able To Steal Food From Anywhere

    Redditoru/missjeri

Mystique needed food. Disney+ brought back old X-Men movies. Mystique shapeshifted into Professor X's mother to gain access. She stole food because she was hungry. Why not just become a McDonald's employee and grab a burger? She managed to impersonate Xavier's mom and break into a large estate, yet she lacked food.

Mystique Had No Reason To Save Logan At The End Of 'Days Of Future Past'

    From Redditor u/Indie_player:

At the end of DOFPMystique disguised as Stryker saved Wolverine while he drowned. Why did she do it? They only interacted briefly. If I recall right, they did not speak. Did she save the one guy with Charles and Erik? What motivated her to save Logan?

Bobby's Cat Should Not Have Been Able To Lick Logan's Claws

    From Redditor u/Skittery_Trots:

Watching X2Now, the scene shows Wolverine pointing his claws at the cat at Bobby's house. The cat, clearly unimpressed, licks the tip of the middle claw. How does it not shred its tongue? Those claws are razor sharp, and the cat attacks the very tip with just a scratch!

The X-Men Should Have Just Sent Wolverine Back In Time To Kill Trask

    From Redditor u/Death_Star_:

TLDR: Why didn't the X-Men send Wolverine back 55+ years to kill Trask? That movie would take five minutes.

Kitty can send Wolverine back 50 years to the exact date. Why didn't they send Wolverine back 65 years to kill Trask? Killing him 15 years before 1973 means he would not know about mutants. He also could not develop Sentinel technology with mutant knowledge. The Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 60s was the earliest point he might have known about mutants, as the U.S. government did not know before then. Even ten years later, the Senate hearing confirmed mutants did not exist.

They did not need to kill a baby Trask. They could have killed Trask in his early 30s, avoiding Sentinels. Compared to the total extinction of all life on Earth, killing one person was arguably the moral choice, especially since the negative results are not imagined; they are real and witnessed.

There are no good arguments against this.

Wolverine Shouldn't Be Able To Get A Haircut

    From Redditor u/Grandy12:

So, in The WolverineThe atomic bomb stripped Logan of his skin. Then, his skin, beard, and hair grew back instantly. This gives his hair regenerative powers. Later, a plot point requires him to get a haircut. Why wouldn't his hair just grow back instantly then?

Why does he act surprised when someone offers him "mortality," given the plot behind it?X-Men: The Last StandDid they find a cure for mutantism? Yoshida offered him death as he wished. Wolverine replied, "Bub, that boat sailed long ago."

Wolverine Shouldn't Have His Metal Claws In 'Days Of Future Past' Or After

    From Redditoru/Death_Star_:

TL;DR -- Wolverine loses his metal claws inThe Wolverine. Then, in 2023, ten years later, he has them back. HOW?

InThe Wolverine, the heated AD samurai sword chops off his adamantium claws. He gets his original bone claws. This movie happens afterX3 and is the most "recent" film or events beforeXM:DOFP.

InDOFP, he has AD claws, seen when he injures Kitty during time projection. How did he get the adamantium claws back? Or did Bryan Singer rewrite events from movies he did not direct?X3, bothWolverinemovies, maybe evenFirst Class.
