I choose Punisher. Losing a kid is likely the most tragic event. He lost both his child and his wife at once.

Logan was the illegitimate son of his mother and the groundskeeper of his father's estate. His mutation appeared only after his actual father killed the man Logan thought was his father in a drunken rage. Logan killed his biological father in a fit of anger, causing his mother to die soon after. Things seemed fine. Logan then fled with his friend Rose, trying to move on. When Logan's half-brother hunted them, the young Wolverine accidentally killed Rose too. Wolverine faces eternal torment from his past.

From Facebook CommenterJon M:

I still pick Batman. He saw both his parents murdered in a dark alley, raised by his butler. No billionaire should see that.

Bruce lost everyone he loved. His life is one huge tragedy.

From Facebook CommenterJoseph D Jr.:

Magneto survived the Holocaust. I give it to him based on characters I know.

From Facebook CommenterMalaika K:

I get why he acted that way. The horror he lived through explains it. I would join him if I were a mutant.

From Facebook CommenterAlyssa K:

Gamora is dark. Her parents and others were killed, kidnapped, trained as weapons, and worshipped by her captor.

Martian Manhunter's story is tragic. He was one of the last members of his race, like Superman, but J'onn had a wife and daughter and saw a civil war destroy his people.

He can also see his home planet in the night sky.

The Silver Surfer. A peaceful being saves his home planet by becoming Galactus's herald. He is haunted that saving his people means helping destroy others. When he fights Galactus, he is trapped on Earth, never seeing his planet again.

Deadpool fits. A man got terminal cancer. He threw his girlfriend out so she wouldn't see him. He got promises to be cured. He became a test subject. He turned into an immortal mutant. He only wants to die, but his insane mind keeps him alive.

From Facebook CommenterIan S:

I'd say Doc Ock. His obsession with his science career came from his mother; his father abused Otto as a child and later died.
Later, he met a woman he loved. His mother's disapproval made him end the engagement because he respected her opinion. When she dated another man, Otto became angry and confronted her. This fight caused her a heart attack, and she died. Otto pursued his science obsession, building mechanical arms. A freak accident fused them to his body. Dealing with anger, guilt, and the accident created the villain we know now.

From Facebook CommenterRobert C:

Galactus. Imagine surviving a dead universe. You must eat planets full of life just to live.
